Wait, Samurai Sanders, you changed Marcus to a Ranger? I still have him as a Mage from when I hired him awhile ago. Next time I go into the Rift I guess I'll be forced to find a new healbot.

Since I've gone sorcerer to pick up augments for my magic archer I'm now stuck with my mage main pawn who I'd also planned to go sorcerer for augments before moving her back for healing. Shes 1 rank off being maxed in vocation as a mage. What do people recommend I do for my party?

I'm sure my pawns are trolling me. I switched to a Warrior, and was winding up a big swing when my Ranger pawn used that ability which launches an enemy for loving miles, so my swing hit empty air. The same pawn then says "You'll ne'er hit anything swinging blindly like that " gently caress you pawn, gently caress you sideways!

How viable is running Fighter/sorcerer/sorcerer/mage? I want the augments for both my character and my pawn from sorcerer and my pawns hit the max vocation rank for mage. I can swap back to magic archer while she goes sorcerer I guess

Still having a great time with this game, I am almost level 30 and barely did any story missions, so I am looking forward doing some of those today. I went from strider to sorcerer, and really trying to balance the stats so I can switch to any class and still be powerful at it, so far it is working out. This google doc certainly helped, I don't think it has been posted here before, if yes, my apologies. Vocation Stat Growth and Augments guide, quite useful Edit- I found that you can save slightly quicker if you press start and then select. Having a day off yesterday, I naturally devoted my entire to playing DD and got a good chunk of quests out of the way. Had one really fun experience during the snake purse one though. Me and my pawn, who just went sorc to get the fast casting augment, along with Shardok's and Cheap Trick's pawn are scouring the edge of river along nameless and prayer falls looking for that stupid purse. After failing miserably and taking out a good chunk of the saurian population, I decided to head back to gran soren. It turns out this area gets infested with ogres at night, so imagine my surprise when I hear that adorable little howling sound they do and suddenly, two ogres out of loving nowhere! Cut to me and Cheap trick's pawn hanging on to both ogres faces, hacking away, while my sorc and shardoks rain fire and death from afar. It was glorious! Sadly this bit of triumph came to a quick end as my cockiness got us all wasted at the next camp down the road from there, also inhabited by Ogres. The moral of the story, gently caress the snake purse quest.

It's like they designed the Assassin by trying to think of the most difficult, self-gimping way to play this game, and then making the vocation's playstyle be just that. Coincidentally, this makes Assassin the best vocation in the game. Can't wait to unlock rank 9 so that I can get those sweet buffs from being alone. No more "THEY'RE ARMED MASTER" for me! Moving around at night was getting boring anyway.

Drizvolta, I think your pawn secretly yearns to either be a fighter or a chimera wrangler. Whenever I fight those beasts, the first thing your mage does is climb onto its back and ride them like rodeo horses.

I really hope the speed running community takes to this game. It'd be interesting to see how fast the game could be blitzed, I think. Sadly we'd probably just get a bunch of NG+ runs and no one ever touches the base from-the-start game. Kinda like why RE4 runs are so poo poo. Ain't nothin' interesting about seeing people go through the game with the uber weapons. I watch speed runs to see skill, and I think this game's a good target for some really skilled, impressive feats.

LibbyM posted:Speaking of armored cyclops, is there a trick to breaking off their helmet armor? It feels really inconsistent in terms of how fast it can be broken off. If you climb on the helmet, the Cyclops will take off his helmet to grab you. This is actually a problem with aggressive spell users as they'll just shock the hell out of the Cyclops and they'll never take off the helmet. Not to mention they take off the helmet and grab you really really quickly, so you basically have to take getting grabbed and hope your pawns stun the cyclops, or you break out of the hold. It's great when they do take off the helmet though, because when they get knocked down you can just wail on their head for big boy damage. Edit: I love the Assassin. I picture my character as a healthy and blond version of Guts with a mullet, but two handed swords is just so slow, and Warriors lack skills. Assassin is the best class I've played so far. When you get "Gouge" with swords, you start demolishing the bigger monsters. The Gouge skill makes it so when you grapple onto big monsters, you use the skill and you'll stab into them, if you hit their weak point you do serious damage. I've knocked off half a Wyvern's health with a full gauge of stamina before, and that was before I got a 1000 damage sword. I don't even have Gouge's upgrade yet either. Edit: I don't think I've ever done the sword skill "Takedown" or "Dire Onslaught" from the core skills. How do these work exactly? I recently switched over to Fighter from Magick Archer in order to pick up some augments. I really like Blink Strike and Skewer, and the general tankiness of the class, but I miss my double jump and roll. You could explore a ton of hidden areas by double jumping across gaps or onto high ledges. My weight is pretty gimped with all this heavy armor on too.

Argh, what's it going to take to make complete strangers to vote more than 3 stars for Battle Rating on my main pawn? She's a Scathis/Challenger now and uses the Corona, Whirlwind and Exodus Slashes for her skills (the ones that are quick, since the AI never hits anything with the charged ones). Aside from jumping up and down uselessly in some situations with bandits, she's gotten really good at killing things, especially if there's a Fighter in the party to provoke. Is there a demand for Warrior pawns anyway? If not I could switch back to Fighter. At this point, my pawn is really proficient with both. Altering Inclinations made a world of difference.

Is it my imagination or are the items that larger monsters drop affected by how you kill it? My usual way of killing a cyclops was to just stab it in the back of the neck neck repeatedly until dead. I've killed somewhere around 20 or so, but never realized they can drop a misshapen eyeball until I changed up my tactics and went specifically for stabbing it in the eye. I'm two for two now when I manage to stab its eye a few times before it dies. Golems seem to drop different items if you manage to kill it while it's enraged. I've killed six of them. The first four I killed normally and they always dropped copper ore and magick seals. The last two I've killed while enraged and they dropped much more rare ore. Are there any other changes to loot tables that anyone has noticed? Or is this just confirmation basis on my part?

I'll have to throw that up there then. I gave the Warrior abilities that were designed to disrupt and damage. Do skill placement in a pawn's arsenal determine useage? I once saw my warrior pawn use Warcry over and over again for no apparent reason and it was the top skill slotted.

My drat pawns keep knocking cyclopses over before I can get them to take their helmet off. If I can scarlet kiss it's face it will die in like ten seconds but otherwise my entire party has to beat on it for like a minute while it lies on the ground. Some minor Ur-Dragon spoilers. For the third generation dragon I fought it twice and got like 50k gold and some ambrosial meat as a reward when it died This time I actually managed to make one of its health bars roll over and destroyed one of its weak points (right front paw) so I'm hoping for something better. I think you're only actually damaging it if purple blood comes out when you hit it rather than grey. Giggily posted:Breaking out of holds is nearly impossible in this game. You can buy potions from the guy standing next to the riftstone in the Encampment that will instantly give a huge boost to the inclination of your choice. They're all really cheap, like 200 RC each. Makes it simple. e: Oh, to actually answer your question, if you use a potion to give a pawn a primary inclination, what was in the primary slot before will typically drop to secondary. So just use them in order. If it's a huge shift you might need a couple of potions for it to change.

You keep all of your items, experience/discipline, vocation points gold and rift crystals. I think you also keep all of your affinity. I've noticed that when I talk to NPCs like Quina and Selene they glow pink slightly and a chime plays so I guess that's affinity. It basically just resets the world and adds a portal to the Ur-Dragon on the hidden beach in Cassardis.
