You change your main pawn's appearance later in the game as much as you want right? I think for now I may just design my pawn for maximum appeal(pretty lady) for lots of rift crystals.

Okay I don't even care about subtle hints anymore, please for the love of god can someone tell me where the idols the two weapons dealers want are? This is the first quest I have had that has given me any real problems on where to proceed, since it has no markers and the quest log offers not even the slightest clue about where to start looking.Cbouncerrun posted:You change your main pawn's appearance later in the game as much as you want right? What's the path people have been taking to make a Magick Archer? I'm currently down the Mage path, but don't know when I should switch and start my Magick Archer. Wish there were more guides about the best builds, skill tree calculators, etc.

Like I got the Duchess but I've read some people get like the blacksmith or Mason. It's weird.

Killsion posted:Rangers are awful. Their augments are lackluster, their longbow attacks are blah, and there are hardly any longbows to upgrade so I hope you like your reinforced longbow. You'll have it a long time. This is terribly wrong, I played Strider to max vocation and then switched to and maxed out Ranger and the Ranger is far from awful and I dare say I actually like it more than the Strider. Both bows share many of the same skills but with each one the Ranger's version is much better (Tenfold Flurry, Endecad Shot) and the short skills I have that unique and not available to longbows. Downpour Volley has really finicky aiming and for the time it takes to draw the arrows and line up the shot, I could take out the same group more efficiently with Tenfold Flurry, Splinter Dart is just terrible and we'll leave it at that. That's not to say that the Ranger doesn't have some lackluster skills but the other ones more than make up for it. Deathly Arrow is basically Full Bend but allows for you to release at pretty much any point and has to levels of charge that cause huge damage if timed right, Body Binder is really only useful if you're in dungeons and need to get one of the more stronger and resilient human-sized enemies out of the way for a while so you can pick of the weaker ones, Comet Shot is great for dealing with getting a clean shot off on an enemy from long range and deals a good chunk of damage, and my new personal favorite Great Gamble takes all your stamina and converts into a controllable arrow (that does more damage the more stamina you had? Need to test this further) that's fantastic for dealing huge damage to the bigger beasts from a distance, it takes some time to charge up and all your stamina but it's worth it when it hits. Seriously, does your shortbow have a skill that can one shot a Cyclops? Didn't think so My Ranger still has the reinforced longbow and I even switched back to Strider for a bit because my Hunter's Bow did more base damage, but coming back to Ranger I've found that the lower base damage isn't really an issue when a good portion of it's skills are devoted to pumping its damage up and it might just be bias confirmation but to me it seems to be much more reliable at hitting enemies from a distance and not. Also Instant Reset is amazing for longbows, and in general, because you can completely bypass the long recovery period from standard arrows and skill shots and it costs small amounts of stamina to use. tldr; Rangers are awesome and you should feel bad thinking they're terrible . Also, added my pawn to the list if anyone needs a level 49 fighter who can also act as a pack mule. Was trying to make him look like Adam Baldwin, instead ended up looking more like a young Al Pacino. vvvv Somebody said that the game will simulate your pawn being rented by other players. I've had the same thing happen since Tuesday and only got my first review last night when my pawn came back it 14k worth of Rift Crystals, so if it doesn't show who rented I think you can assume it was a simulated one and your pawn might still be getting used but hasn't been returned yet. There's a barber shop in Gran Soren which offers various redesign services, 4 tiers of them, both for the Arisen and the main pawn. I've already used it at least once to change my pawn's hair color and style. I can't recall exactly what the tiers all have to offer for changes, but I know in at least one of them you can get as far as changing skin tone and such easily. EDIT: Also, question. My pawn's been hired apparently at least like 7 or more times, but she still hasn't had any reviews and I get gently caress all for Rift crystals when she gets back, something like less than 100 per gift. What gives with that? I saw other people mentioning getting easily 20k RC rather quickly through their pawn getting hired? Or is this that one random feature where it just claims she was hired when it's really just the game throwing me a bone? Shima Honnou fucked around with this message at 21:34 on May 27, 2012 |

I've been watching my ranger pawn deal with harpies and he's...not. He points the bow at them for a while and then stops and starts jumping around trying futily to melee them or something, I don't get it. Is there any way I can fix that?

Caxton and Madeleine. Who has the best stuff? Assuming that whoever I give it to gets some new inventory that is? Is there a list of the rewards somewhere?
