But for the first time in my life, I think I've gone too far.
They do make pawns better at fighting the monster in the manual. It teaches your pawn the tip you can read.

I just assumed it made the pawn a little better in some theoretical, mathematical way.

You don't give it to them, you read it and it teaches them it. Giving it to them does nothing. The description for the tactic scroll will say what it is it's teaching the pawns.

I finally got past that witchwood quest and so far I am doing much better. Although so far I have kept to the areas near Gran Soren because I want to finish some more quests before advancing the main quest because I hear that doing it cancels some of the other ones.

Also, some of these quests are stupid MMORPG poo poo. Kill 50 rabbits, really?

By reading the books we mean you can read the tooltip, which kind of gives you tips on your own (some are useless, like attack a griffin's wings to bring them down).

All of the "kill x monsters" notice board quests can be done normally as you adventure around, since I haven't had any of those cancel on me.

I think I still have the rabbits one to do though. Something like 5/45 done.

The stupid MMO quests are the bulletin board ones, and they're the ones that apparently don't cancel from advancing the plot. The only ones that cancel are ones given by people you meet in the world, like Fournival or Mason.

You can do that one in a few minutes by just entering/leaving Cassardis a few times and killing the 10-15 rabbits that spawn immediately outside the gates.

It's insane how much money people would put behind the wholesale senseless slaughter of small forest animals. Someone really hated the movie Bambi or something.

The best thing about those board quests is that you can ignore them completely so things like the snakeskin purse can gently caress right off.

I don't think they're sold anywhere. I think you find them randomly from tree trunks in Soulflayer Canyon? That or the area near the Bandit Den of Blue Moon Tower.

Don't go out of your way to finish the MMOy notice board quests. You'll get most of them done just going about your business as usual, that is, murdering everything that moves. Just think of them as rare gifts from the EXP Gods that you receive every now and again.

Well one good thing about the Notice Board quests is that some of the rewards sell for 50,000 to 100,000 gold.

What about the escort the merchant one? Will that one ever cancel out? I am having a lot more fun with the game now that I have some direction though. I finally realized that I needed to equip my main pawn better. It is unreal how many pawns out there still have the base equipment they start with.

Also untrue, they come back later on. They just come/go on some arbitrary trigger. Again though, totally ignorable.

I still have them. I know about the 50 war bugle quest, you get that before you can even conceivably do the 40 bugle quest. I have like 43 or so of them. The Soultaker or whatever sounds cool and all but whatever it is will be a downgrade to what I'm using and I have the trophy for doing board quests, so... meh.

Not really, it's more of a different play style. If anything Mystic Knight is more of an upgrade to Fighter.

Try the assassin if you have strider skills already. The assassin gets great strength stats when leveling up and can still specialize in sword and shield if you want (or daggers / bow).

Plus at night you just get even better.

Edit: As for skills, I'm a fan of the one where you dash forward with the sword and poke someone over, and the one where you launch the enemy in the air (don't know the names of any of these, sorry). Also, I just got the ability to wave my sword around like an idiot and cut monsters to "ribbons". Fun

Soultaker is actually just another one of the "Gold" weapons which is just a reskin of a normal weapon with worse stats (that sells for a ton of cash though). As far as I know the only really decent item you get from board quests is the shield from the Mercedes escort.

Still, some of the "Kill X Y's" ones can give you a ton of cash - I had one to kill something like 10 Chimeras (which takes a little while but isn't really that hard to get done eventually) that gave me 750k. Even the ones to kill rabbits can sometimes pay 150k for some crazy reason.

What?
It is extremely easy to kill a golem as a sorceror. Throw a pawn or two at it, step back, and use Exequy. It charges up at a reasonable rate, and when you're done, the big guy just dies. Weak points are not an issue. If you are tiny and don't have enough stamina to finish it, you can hit up your items to eat meat or magic caffiene without interrupting the spell.

Edit vv: The Art of Metamorphosis can do that I think. The pawn shop at the encampment.

I'm still mostly just tooling around with gear and getting stuff Dragon Forged, and spending WAY too much gold in the process. Is there a better way to consistently find Dragon's, rather than just waiting a few days and hoping for a respawn?

Also! I've got two Wyvern Tears (but a single Wyrm Tear). Would the effect stack at all?

So this is from a page back, but someone in this thread said you couldn't successfully transfer dragonforged items? I'm guessing this is false then?

Also, the % posted about chance of dragonforging make more sense as to why I've had nothing dragonforged since I beat the dragon and happened upon a nearly-dead ur-dragon. I guess I better get upgrading my armor to 3 stars if I want a chance at things being dragonforged. Although that gets really expensive with higher-level items.

e: vvvvv you can only choose one regular item, but before you give the pawn up you can also equip them with something new. That way you can send them equipment as well.

Okay. What's the deal with griffins? Found my first one yesterday. I walked out of Gran Soren and one decided to chow down on a cart not far from town. I was kind of flustered by it so I didn't really scratch it before it flew off. In an in-game day or three, it divebombs me out of nowhere while I'm dealing with bandits just outside Gran Soren, and then again when I'm on the road to the Hillfigure Knoll. Each time it gets away, which is infuriating considering it's the one that interrupted me at the worst possible moment.

So is this just one rear end in a top hat whose health bar I can whittle down over multiple battles, or are there multiple ones that will continue to fly away until I get strong enough to kill them fast?
Getting some serious Skyrim flashbacks here, since I hear the music first before I see anything.

Just throw it on your dude anyway when the thing's low health? It's 'gendered clothing for the purposes of loving with NPCs,' not restricted 'only this gender can wear this,' as far as I've ever seen.

So be absolutely fabulous for a little while and hook her up. :sissies:

I've currently had zero success sending anything dragonforged. I sent a bunch of my friends' pawns back with stuff I got from when the Ur-Dragon wasn't immortal, at varying levels of enhancement. They got everything that was level 1-3, but none of them got the dragonforged equipment and it apparently just stopped existing.
