I'm still here.
This game is just pissing me off me now. I can't go anywhere without finding bandits that I can't even damage or, and this one has happened to me THREE TIMES today, wandering around only to get one shotted by a Chimera.I have two pawns with me that are about level 90 each and they just get murdered too.

Everything is just so slow because when you get killed you lose so much time and XP.

He seems to not exist until closer to the middle of the day. So if you rested at an inn until morning you won't see him until sometime later.

And isn't the last augment leg strength? It just makes your stamina usage akin to a lower weight level. I think striders are the only class who can climb monsters really fast inherently.

I think on a first playthrough you should just try not to be too bothered about missing things, it really brings the game down if you're worrying about things, in my opinion.

Chances are you'll miss quite a few things, but there's always New Game + if you want to get everything. But if you do want to get everything, I think you'd want to use a guide on another run through.

He almost always hangs out in exactly the same spot behind the inn (right by Steffan, the grimoire quest guy), but he doesn't like to load while you're in town. If you go there and it's daytime and you can't see him, run outside the gates and back and he'll be there.

I've already missed a bunch of stuff the second go through. Guess it's going to take at least another. There's like three quests in Cassardis that you can get before even going to the encampment, apparently. I missed those, of course. At least the game is fun enough I don't mind too much.

Cool thanks. His magick is pretty high, and he's pretty. I just hired a guy very similar in ability, clothes, and weapons and stats. Kind of weird. He was a random in the Rift.

I also upgraded his staff twice and was killed in 10 minutes when I fought a cockatrice so you're welcome whoever owns Alder. (non-goon probably)

Edit: Is the Black Cat anywhere after you beat the game or is it gone forever?

If anyone uses my pawns and would like to gift, the only things i really need if you have them to spare is stuff to enhance armor and stuff. Thanks. I don't really need anything though, so don't feel obligated to, rift crystals are good enough for me.

Not sure if this was answered earlier, but skills like blink strike and its upgrades can be purchased as a fighter, but it is also available as an assassin sword skill. Will I need to repurchase them to use them as an assassin even though I have them as a fighter? Do they carry over?

You only ever need to buy cross-class skills once, and you keep access to them even if you're not high enough rank in your current class to buy them for that class.

They carry over, everything related to skills, augments, and vocations is a one-time buy deal.

You can't. The only way to give a pawn more than one thing is to equip something on them, which automatically gifts it to the pawn's creator. You can even give multiple pieces of the same armor this way if you just equip it, unequip it(this sends it back automatically to the pawn creator), and then equip the second piece.

I kind of wish there was just a way to give a pawn a ton of items because as it stands now it's already possible to transfer over a bunch of stuff to another account or your friend, it just takes some time since you have to rest, then wait for the other person to rest, then rinse and repeat.

Ganondorf achieved.

Do we have a spot for posting good strangers' pawns? You can just search by level and narrow down to find them, right?

I've been using Luna and Nike since level 30 and I'm up to 44 now.

Luna is a lvl. 39 Mage with 800+ attack power and solid defenses, High Ingle, High Comestion, Fire Affinity, High Anodyne, and I think Halidom and Spellscreen. Both might be high. Best of all, she looks nice and isn't a child.

Nike is a lvl. 39 Sorceror with 1,000+ attack power and solid defenses. She's got... sorcerer spells. I dunno, I haven't played as one yet. There's a big fire wall, and big ice thing that shoots like antlers. And she's rained meteors before. Basically with that much attack power she makes stuff dead. My only complaint is that she didn't max the vocation and thus doesn't get the halved charge time.

Should I be hiring pawns that are several levels higher than me? I've been rolling with ones that are my level at the time I hire them, I gain 3-6 levels then switch them out. I've got like....25k Rift Crystals? Not sure if I should be saving them for something else or just hiring bad rear end pawns to do all the work for me.

Semi-related. I got my main pawn (Imoen) to max support mage status. She's really good at healing, casting weapon enchants (fire and holy) and using lightning to blast flying poo poo out of the sky.

Really it depends on your playstyle, you can try either way and see what works for you. I typically don't hire anything more than ~2 levels above me and I haven't had any issues. That way I can level up a few times before returning to a rift-stone, and if they're good they have more time to shine. I guess you could hire something substantially above your level if you're having trouble with something but I never found it necessary.

Also, anything your level or lower costs 0RC, so you could technically switch yours out every level if you felt like it.

The outfit itself didn't have the DLC glow, so it's intended to be obtainable at least.

I found Sorcerer to be pretty good. You do get some great looking spells and it made the Post-game monsters pretty drat easy, but I found the Strider classes to be more fun, to be honest. I'm currently using the Magic Archer and that class is just loving bananas.

I'm pretty much killing groups of weaker garbage with just one volley of the Panzer Dragoon multi lock-on ability. Setting yourself on fire is great too. Having the magic augmentations from Mage and Sorcerer only makes the class even more powerful.

Since I was a Strider, Ranger, Fighter (briefly) and Assassin this time, I figured I would play Mystic Knight and Magick Archer next time. Unfortunately the most natural lead-in to those, Mage and Sorcerer, look pretty boring. Are they really anything besides standing still with a lock-on spell and waiting for it to cast, then repeating that over and over? Would I really need their augments or magic stat growth from levelups to be able to play the magic hybrid classes well? I was thinking I might want to start as Strider a second time because it has the most balanced stat gain, then move straight to MK or MA. But MA gets pretty low stat growth per level according to the chart and a lot of people say it feels pretty weak, so how would I best lead into it?

Still looking for a response on this. I never messed with magic for my whole playthrough and just rented out a mage and sorcerer who looked like they had decent skills every 5-10 levels, so I have no idea how it works.

I haven't seen a list with the base inventory or affinity items, but this has everything you unlock for each idol so it should help you decide whether to give the gold/silver idol to Madeleine or Caxton.

Where did you get that mask with the mouth drawn on it? I saw a pawn wearing it but I haven't seen it for sale/gotten it to drop from anywhere. I think there might also be a red one but I never found that either, just the brown one you can get from the random bandit camp in the northeast. The wiki is unfortunately pretty useless about armor and drop locations in general right now.

Edit: Also, where do you buy portcrystals in the postgame? The Black Cat doesn't seem to have any for sale, which was where I thought you got them but they aren't there.

I'm playing a mystic knight this playthrough and tried to level Sorcerer to get a couple of the augments. I only made to rank 5 or 6 before I said gently caress it and switched back. Like you said its basically standing still casting spells. It was really loving boring.

But really it's not a huge investment to try a class out and see if you can deal with leveling it. Try it and if you decide you don't want to level it all the way then don't. You don't really "need" any of the augments - the game isn't that tough.

That's the last vocation rank that gives you an augment, and I don't think the level 10 skills transfer to sorcerer.

... Actually, after checking the wiki page, Mages don't get poo poo at rank 10. So, assuming you don't mind missing the healing spells and such, jump ship to Sorc and blow things up with big money damage spells.
