There's people on Facebook complaining you can only download an instrumental version, and there's no sign of the lyrics elsewhere on the internet (plus other versions of the video have the Ellie Goulding song 'Lights' instead) so it kinda looks like it was specially commissioned

A while back, I found an artist named Dr. Vinyl, who did long-mix dance-type music. The stuff was generally pretty good, but I could never find any track list for any of it. I picked up Sound Hound the other day, and gave it another try, but since it's all heavily distorted and generally non-vocal, I've had no luck with that either. Sadly, his site seems to have vanished in the last year or so, but he used to have all his mixes up for free downloads. With that in mind, I've uploaded the track that I'm wondering about; the salient point is about 34:10 to roughly 36:00. Can anyone identify the song that he's using there? It's pretty distinctive, I just have no idea what it is.

Hey, I've been looking for the name of this piece forever. It's the classical music that begins at around the 0:42 mark in this international/French trailer for Revolver: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVPhD73v_Gk Any ideas as to what it's from?

I've been in Argentina for awhile now, and the other day I heard an odd cover of "Personal Jesus." on the radio. It sounded like a complete redo; the tempo was much slower and it had a female singer. Wikipedia hasn't helped me much in finding it though, any ideas?

There's a Hillary Duff song that samples it, is that what you're thinking of?

I hope I can figure out what this song was, it's been driving me crazy for years. It was a Celtic song that started with a female voice singing in some non-English language, probably Gaelic; after she sang a verse other instruments solo'd the melody. I think there was a piano, flute or whistle and pipes at the end. After the instruments have all played the melody the woman sings the part again, and the song fades out with rain sounds. It was really relaxing and I always suspected that it might be Enya but I haven't been able to find it by guessing around through her catalog.

This should be straight-forward. In this Strangers with Candy-episode: http://www.comedycentral.com/episodes/e84p16/strangers-with-candy-invisible-love-season-3-ep-306 , starting at 14:35, what's the song playing at the party. Google only brings up some song called "Desire" by Gene Loves Jezebel but that's definitely not it.

Does anybody know where the background music in this video comes from? I'm quite sure it's a standard iMovie or production music track, because I've heard it in other videos besides this one. EDIT: The end says Music by Apple, so I'm assuming it's a standard track that comes with iMovie. Does anybody know where if I can browse or buy some of those stock tracks, or if I can find where they licensed it from? Suspicious Dish fucked around with this message at 06:56 on Jun 21, 2012 |

I saw a music video in a metal bar and would like to know what band it is. The video was in black and white and you can see the band playing. The singer was a bald dude. The rest of the video was about homeless army veterans. Sounds weird, but i liked the song.I suspect it`s an american thrash metal band from the nineties. Thanks.

I saw this posted elsewhere and decided to pass it along: --- Can you identify this music/muzak? Doing so will aid a murder investigation. The music/muzak is playing in a diner/restaurant in 1983 either from the radio, a record, or television. The diner/restaurant was likely located in San Antonio or Castle Hills, Texas. As the recording currently stands it is not recognized by Shazam but a friend suggested running it though a program called izotope RX, which I do not have access to. Using a demo version of Sound Soap did not make the audio sufficiently clear to be recognized by Shazam. I have submitted it to reddit/r/classicalmusic without it being recognized by any users. Though one user suggested running it through a music search engine that allows you to identify pieces by tapping notes to the melody, but I don't have perfect pitch and was unable to identify the notes in the music fragments. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Short sample Long sample: Long sample --- The reddit thread he already asked in. Someone there said it sounded like showtunes from the 30s to 50s.

If this is for a murder investigation then why wouldn't they take it to some university's music department and have a professor of music history listen to it? That seems like it would be more effective than asking the internet.

Ok, this is kind of a long shot... I heard a song in a pub in Vancouver yesterday, and I can't for the life of me figure out what it was. The singer reminded me a little bit of the Kaiser Chiefs, the lyrics had the word "jealousy" in them multiple times but I couldn't understand anything else, and there were a few pauses for a clean, ascending guitar lick. Anybody think they can help me out based on this little bit of info? The rest of the playlist had songs you'd expect to hear in an Apple commercial, I think Tongue Tied by Grouplove was one of them, if that helps nail down the genre a little bit more.

I'm in the same boat as 15/f/Ca. I was listening to an automatic radio playlist based on Pretty Lights on grooveshark and I listened to this track over and over and for the life of me can't remember the artist or the track's name. The track was some kind of electronica. It started with a 3-4 second long beeping sound and had elements of dubstep thrown in for good measure. I believe there was the word sugar or sugar sugar thrown in somewhere in the name of the artist or the track, but that's pretty much it. Kind of a longshot, I know...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEw4s5tGbT4 I'd love to know the song in the beginning and end of this video. It plays for the first minute, then starts up again around 7:30. The video description says Crocodiles, but I think that's the song in the middle. I guess it could be them, but I couldn't find any of their songs that sounded like that. Normally I'd just google one of the lyrics, but it's so lo-fi I literally cannot decipher a single verse.

So the gym I go to tends to only pump top 40 music, really it's the only place I hear the stuff. Over the last couple weeks I've been hearing this one song that's stood out to me, just because it sounds so... Odd. Its a rap song with a beat that sounds like its been lifted directly from a country song. Just a notably wierd meld of musical styles. I'd like to know its name. I'm fairly certain its a recent release because it always precedes or follows like Gotye or Rhianna or some other.

I swear I know who made this but for some reason I can't find anything about the song or any of the other lyrics. It's an industrially-sounding song, with a female singer who is singing kind of operatically, and at various points in the song a guy with a deep voice sings (with some effect) "a million wishes" (I think). Edit: Of course, the instant I post this I think of it. It's the song Mother by Panzer AG. Such a loving amazing song (and album) (and band) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctn_oSrv4A4
