So apparently Soulflayer Canyon is a cool place for cool dudes to hang out and get cool gear. But at what level? I'm level 30ish right now and apparently the biggest threat over there is an ogre which isn't really a threat at all. Have I been lied to or did I grossly blow over the level range where cool dudes can get cool gear?

Naw, it gets much more dangerous later, though I don't think the loot drops change. You'll mostly get sweet bows, longbows, and spellbows that are better than what Caxton sells.

Yes, and I know this for certain because I dropped them from the top of the tower! :black101:

Also if you are on the Blue Moon Tower and you have a ton of nice stuff but you don't want to ferrystone yourself back to Grand Soren, what can you do?
Put all the junk on a secondary pawn, move the good items to the other pawns and throw the junk-carrying pawn from the top of the tower, and then summon back the secondary pawn! :black101:

So basically run, don't walk to Soulflayer Canyon right now? If I understand correctly, the entrance is near / in the rogue camp I am headed for anyway to recover the tome? The idea of sweet longbows is especially appealing.

The first time I did the Wyrmking ring quest, I found it easier to make my way up the tower by throwing all the enemies off ledges, instead of stopping to fight and getting blasted by all those archers. So when I finally got to the wizard, I decided to knock him off the edge of the tower too. I was pretty proud of myself for dealing with him so swiftly, until I realized that he took the ring with him, and the game kind of broke after that. No more enemies to be found, no cut scenes, no anything. The battle music just kept running too. So then I had to run around just to look for a place to kill myself, since every time I dove off the edge, the brine kept resetting me.

All in all, it was actually kind of fun looking for places to go splat from.

Yes, and it's very funny. Then if he survives he goes back to Gran Soren and slowly realises that you gave him a forgery. Doesn't do anything though, just whines about it.

Speaking of forgeries, I've decided that every playthrough, the Duke is getting a forged Wyrmking ring, even though the real thing isn't much use to me now that I have two. Mainly because he is a prick, and I find it funny when he can't open that chest.

I'm pretty much just waiting on the beach on Cassardis for a while, in the hopes that I will be able to go and kill the Ur-Dragon in one of the grace periods. Just toss a portcrystal down at the gates of Cassardis. Then, when the Ur Dragon goes down, ferrystone back and get those sweet drops.

I'm making a mystic knight, because I want to hit people really hard in the face with a mace, and I'm wondering how important the higher up sorceror augments are to having a good mystic knight. I ask purely because my last character was a sorceror and getting another to level 9 does not appeal. I'm not too bugged by getting fighter or warrior levels, but sorceror sucks until you invest a lot of points into the really good skills.

The questions only work to switch out the top 3 inclinations with eachother (and the third inclination doesn't show up that often); buy inclination-changing potions at the encampment with rift crystals.

e: As for which is best for a mage, it depends on how supporty you want them to be. Medicant and utilitarian make them obsessed with healing and enchanting, respectively, but you can do something like utilitarian/scather and they'll focus on blasting fools once they're done enchanting.

The chair is very poor for actually getting inclinations to change. Better to go to the encampment and get inclination potions. One will set it to their secondary, two will set it to their primary.

Yeah Aelinore is definitely my "love interest" based on her dialogue and the cutscenes, Selene is just standing in my bedroom like she was before (still pink haloed) and Madeleine is chilling at the inn with a bunch of new merchandise (also glowing).

You don't need the augments for smacking people as a mystic knight. Most shield enchantments have really quick cast times, it's the (admittedly great) offensive magic and party-wide weapon enchants that takes forever to cast.

I'm tempted to write a guide to building mystic knights and magic archers, but I'm only familiar with like 2/3rds of the skill sets of each. :v:

I had Asalam on the beach. I took his little smile as a sign of relief, safe in the knowledge that the one drat person that keeps his business afloat is alive and well. It was Madeleine with the dragon though. I never once gave him a gift either, it was all through resting at the inn.

Yes, but not until you kill the dragon. She turns up in the inn in Cassardis; afaik she stays there up until you actually for real finish the game. It's a shame she vanishes from Gran Soren, she was my main outfitter for my caster character and pawn.

I discovered by accident. A few pages ago I asked someone to take a picture carrying Madeleine over their shoulder and no one responded so I went to do it myself, I found her not there and her assistant or something was like "she's missing". She didn't have a marker over her head though, so I guess not all NPCs that give quests have markers.

I'm not positive what all you have to do to get it to happen, but once she's set up her real shop after Chasing Shadows and right around the time you do Pride Before a Fall (Mercede's quest to the northern fort) if you go to her store she's gone and a stranger is there to tell you that she's bailed for some reason. I think it happened right after I got back after Mercedes lost her duel and Julien took off to wherever the hell he goes.

I gave her the silver idol and she was at maximum affinity as well, like I said I'm not sure what of those factors actually makes the quest trigger though. My guess is just having her shop set up and checking right after Julien defeats Mercedes is what the key is, since what she's busted for is trafficking in Salvation goods like she sold to him.
