The real question is, what was the present that Seth got her for her birthday the next year when she was the oldest person alive? It gets a STRONG reaction from Jonathan, and then tells Seth not to reveal it and that he'll post a picture of it. To this day I can't imagine what it could have been.

Some of my favorite moments are when Jonathan silently considers something Seth said or read for a moment and then breaks into nearly inaudible giggles. Such as "I made diarrhea on her face seventy years ago."

There's no shame in doing things by yourself. I'd imagine quite a few people will be there by themselves because podcasts are generally a solitary activity and most people probably don't have a bunch of friends that share their love of the show. It's not like a concert. It would be silly to miss out on seeing them just because you have to sit alone. You're not going to be talking to your friends during the show anyway. (Sorry if I'm jumping to conclusions and misinterpreting your reasons.)

I'll be bringing my husband because, while he's never listened to the show on his own, I've forced him to listen to it enough times on car rides that he's familiar enough with it to be able to "get it" and enjoy the live show. I wouldn't even consider bringing someone who has never heard the show before.

I SEE DEMONS
While I'm not one to pry into people's lives, one of my many questions about Seth has been answered. I always wondered if Seth was in any relationships with a lady since his breakdown, but figured he just might be too neurotic. Well I called the voicemail today to tell him about how bad the Beach Boys were as an act at Bonnaroo was for me, and he had bought tickets to see them. I missed his call, so I called him back, and on his voicemail it seems a lady has moved in with him. Very happy for my dog.

Talked to Seth for about 10 minutes tonight, that was pretty cool. Really brought it home for me after listening to however many hours of this show. It's pretty rad that they interact so freely with their fans.

Question for anyone who's been to a live show before: do they do any extra poo poo other than the ~1 hour podcast on stage? Seems kind of short for a live show... maybe they'll do a meet and greet after?

At the Los Angeles show in February of this year, they showed the 5-minute UYD cartoon beforehand, and they were hanging around before and after the show.

I think he can hear you, Ray.
One thing I always found odd was when Jonathan had a recent rant about people calling him Jah, how it's disrespectful etc so I was a little surprised when I dipped back into older episodes and he refers to himself a few times as Jah. It seems a bit odd he would get so annoyed over something he essentially started.

Jonathan is sort of privileged and hypocritical. I identify with him in this, and then I identify with Seth's neuroses about living and society and stuff. It's sort of distressing.

When does Seth talk about his real issues? I've seen a few references to this in the thread but haven't heard him say anything really that much about himself yet, so far he's been making up fake disorders he has (I'm still climbing through the 2006 shows).

Seth seems to avoid any discussion of his true self. Most of what he says about himself and his life is made up.

None of you can glean anything about Seth's personality and feelings from what he says? I don't think one could record hundreds of hours of youreslf talking and not have a considerable amount of your true self come through. I hope he's more well-adjusted and content than he seems in his crazy stories, but I think the abstract stuff he talks about does trouble him. I don't think I'm projecting anything onto him.

I feel like the character he plays for the show is mostly an exaggerated version of himself. But, he has what seems to be a strong aversion to talking about personal details to any extent. Most of what Seth does is for laughs so maybe he just doesn't think factual details about his personal life will be funny.

In a recent episode, Jonathan asked Seth to describe his eating habits, and Seth said "humble". Jonathan tried to press him into saying more specifics about what he eats but Seth immediately wanted to jump on to another topic, segueing into gas prices or something.

I always assume that when Seth says that he had 2 think thin bars and a DMD for dinner he is being serious. I remember him telling a story about going to Taco Bell and getting rice and peas and a carmel apple pie or some poo poo because they were the only Vegan options on the menu and feeling like maybe he is missing the point. Also those apple pies are totally fried in lard.
