But I recently broke it out while digging through my things and decided it looked alright after all, and so my pawn's been wearing it now for the past few days. vv

So what inclination decides how likely a pawn is to grab enemies, i play as a sorcerer with a support mage main pawn and i need a good fighter to draw aggro and deal damage, what i do not need is a clingy furry who huggels everything on two legs, getting a bit tired of hiring a pawn to tank for me only to have the game zoom in on him as he is busy pinning his submissive bottom goblin to the ground every chance he gets.

Pretty sure its utilitarian. You probably want a scather/challenger tank if you're a sorcerer and don't like when they pin stuff down. You can turn off the zooming in too, it's the cinematic camera option. Personally I really like the grabs, they make things that are incredibly annoying to fight like hellhounds a lot more bearable. I'm usually the one in my party doing it though.

There really seems to be a problem with my pawn. I think she's bugged somehow. She'll just stand in place. The only reason she follows me at all is because pawns teleport if they get too far away. edit: She started out actually helping to fight the Ur-Dragon, but then just...stopped. After about three minutes she just took up residence in the middle of the arena and stared into space for the rest of the fight. Anyone else have problems like this? edit 2: What the hell? Uh-oh, now I'm worried because I noticed my pawn standing in place not moving after I killed the wyvern outside of Gran Soren. It seemed to fix itself when I zoned into the city though. I hope it's not progressive pawn dementia. Does it persist if you exit and restart the game?

Same question as geostomp, once it happened that my three pawns were stuck at the bottom of the Everfall in front of a closed grate (it leads to a room that is available before the endgame, and is full of harpies and has some skeleton archers and wizards). They helped me to defeat a skeleton lord however before standing still again (on the other hand I had to bring the lord to them). I can remember it was fixed by a trip to the riftstone.

Haha, wow. I sure hosed up the quest where Madeleine and the weaponshop owner asks for a an Idol. Turns out that I accidentally gave the weaponshop owner a fake version, needless to say he was not pleased and wouldn't accept the real one. Oh well, I hope that Madeleine has some good stuff instead for my Strider/Assassin

Ok couple of questions: so I was escorting Madeleine to Blood Beach, got about 5 feet from the quest marker and boom a Griffin flew out of the sky landed straight on her and the quest failed thing popped up. I'm pretty sure she won't ask me to do anything again, but she does respawn eventually, right? I'd like to still have access to her shop. I gave Caxton (masterworks all) a bronze idol and then I found out there are better items unlocked with the better idols, will I have the chance to give him a higher quality one?

NPCs take like an in-game week to respawn, so no worries there. You can't give Caxton a better idol in your current playthrough, but you can in NG+. Madeline also needs an idol, so you can unlock stuff with her as well.

Well she's acting normally again, but I have no idea why. I restarted, multiple times. I threw her around. I threw her to her death. I changed her class, and that didn't do it. I changed her inclinations, and that didn't do it. Then I gave her an incense, thinking I'd just let her be an item mule if nothing else. She used the incense and started behaving normally again. Anyone know where to find a proper wyvern? I have killed multiple drakes and fought the blue lizard with the stomach weak point down in the Everfall, but nothing that fulfills the board requests to kill a wyvern.

Just started playing again today, stop at the inn, rest, some guy gave me 3 port crystals, rated me all 5s and commented 'All the best to you.' Thanks bro. If anyone in the early to mid20s wants to try my dude out, my 360 GT is IllGarrett. I'd be happy to use yours and chuck you a portcrystal or something, it's just I want to hear a slightly more detailed evaluation of him to know if he's actually any good or that dude was just super happy today or something. So I just went and did the goblin fortress, which was really intense, battling in the courtyard for like half an hour (The ballista got broken). Anyway, I get back to Gran Soren, go to the inn, and two guys have hired my pawn, one of them just a regular thing, the other guy got me 80k rift crystals (the most I've ever heard) and gave him a royal surcoat, as well as full steel plate armour, and some sword called Ascalon that does like 600+ physical damage and 400+ magical damage, my strider is just about to go assassin and I've made my fighter pawn a warrior now (not going to update at the inn yet though, not until he has some actual skills and such, don't wanna make him useless to people who've been enjoying him so far) but I can't wait to use that sword TehGherkin fucked around with this message at 03:38 on Jun 25, 2012 |

Besides the one Uvula mentioned, there is one outside the Southern gate to Gran Soren. I only found it at night and it took a little while for the stupid thing to actually come down and fight, you can see two of them circling that area if you look up. There's another on the road to Windbluff tower, I also fought him at night, not entirely sure if that's a requirement or not. Apparently that one will sometimes flee to the North and you have to chase him down a little, I managed to down him without that happening though. You can tell if you've found a wyvern if you happen to notice that it's lightning themed as opposed to fire like the drakes are. Also, the stupid jerks keep their hearts on their back rather than on their chest

I've just got my assassin to the post-game following my hilariously dickish use of the maker's finger on the dragon, really surprised they let you do that but also really glad, I laughed out loud. I've been trying out the night time and solo strength bonus augments and its certainly an interesting way to play the game but I can't help but feel ghosts will gently caress me into a shallow grave. I'm kind of surprised by how hard the post-game is when you aren't a sorcerer, my sorcerer could just roll over everything in the everfall barring the magic immune guys. All of the fights I've done so far as my assassin have been pretty challenging and fun, and I think the room with the skeleton pope and regular chimera and black chimera is the most challenging fight I've had in the game so far. Jumping on an ogres face and killing him almost immediately with dire gouge is really fun too.

Some questions from a new guy who picked this up that I can't seem to find concrete info on. - How important are stats? From what I read, STR is for bows/daggers/swords etc. I really like bows and daggers, so I maxed out warrior then went straight assassin then ranger. I heard Assassin has the most STR gain, so is it best to straight up level that forever then switch to ranger? - Is there a really good place early game (I'm level 36) to get a decent ranger bow? - I got a Golden Idol from taking care of some fat dudes kid for a bit. Should I make a copy of it? Also, which shopkeeper is best to give it to? - This Griffin outside of the castle seems to just wander around and never fight me before running off. Is there a way to get him to land and actually kill him? As far as I know for the golden idol, madeliene will take a fake, the blacksmith won't. Supposedly it works for both but the order I did the quests in had Madeleine be made unavailable before I was able to see what she upgraded to. Stats are also not super important in my experience unless you really want to game the system or you want to shore up a certain weakness you don't like given that the game loses a god amount of difficulty once you get a feel for it. However leveling up assassin for a while is completely fine for making a cool ranger later.

You lose out on rewards for giving either shopkeeper a fake idol. Make a copy but keep it for yourself for the discount at shops.

"Early game" is really about how far you are in the story-line; your level is almost meaningless. I was level 60 before I even met the duke, which would be "mid-game," I think, as the game is broken into 7 distinct segments (at last as far as shop-keeper inventory is concerned) and the duke is stage 4. You can tempt the griffin with fresh meat--kill some goblins or oxen and he'll often come down. Also, idol discounts don't seem to stack, so you might as well just get the golden idol discount.

The Blue Moon Tower is a great place for loot! You can only access the first half before you get the quest to go there, but it's a lot of fun to explore. I don't think there are any good bow drops in the tower itself, but the bandit canyon on the way there should have some goodies--I know for sure they drop good strider/ranger armor.
