Handsome Dead posted:Wait. What? wikipedia posted:Phalanx is infamous for the incongruous box art in its American release: it displays a bearded elderly man dressed in overalls, wearing a fedora and playing a banjo while a futuristic spaceship flies in the background. The popular media site IGN named it their fifth "Most Awesome Cover" in a top 25 countdown on their website.

The Phalanx cover is amazing just for its bizarreness. It's certainly memorable.

Don't worry, as it's closer to release they'll make some posters of just the faces of the main characters, mugging for the camera to show just how kooky and zany the movie will be. They'll probably have taglines under them too, like "The Girl", "The Dog", "The Man of Metal", "The Strawman", the "The King", and "The Wiz".

Is there any specific reasoning behind when they use Visionary Director to promote something? I'm seeing it crop up more often these days.

Still, I wouldn't doubt that the writers will try and fit a few nods to them in there somewhere. The Wiz walks past a Scarecrow, see a lion in the distance, that sort of thing.

Maybe they'll work in the tin woodsman's backstory from the book, where he keeps accidentally chopping off parts of his body and getting them replaced with tin prosthetics until every part of his body has been replaced
