Nope, definitely not Secret of Nimh. The animation didn't look anything like a Don Bluth film.

I've been trying to figure out what this movie was for a week now and it's driving me insane.

I was at a bar and some DJ had this animated film playing in the background. The animation was really kind of jerky and the way it moved kind of reminded me of Monty Python. All that I can really remember from watching was there was a group of primitive-looking people living in a hole or a cave of some sort. I'm pretty sure at some point two of the people kissed and as if on cue a dragon-ish thing started attacking their cave/hole/habitat and they had to flee saying something like, "Now we must go into this mysterious world."

I know I don't have much for you guys to go off of, but I was certain it was called Mysterious World. Google has given me nothing close.

I watched this movie on TV, I think over 6 years ago. It's about young couple somewhere in what I thought was the pacific northwest of america, in Seattle i think. The guy is a programmer or something, but doesn't want to sell out to a firm like microsoft. The girl goes lesbian with some chick that goes around beating guys up. However, she starts hooking up with the guy again. That's about all I remember, I think I only saw the middle third of the movie or so.

I recall an animated feature, one or two hours long, I used to watch on video when I was a kid - this was sometime between 1980 and 1983, so it was produced either during this timeframe or the late '70s. It may have been made for television and not theatrical, but I can't be sure. It was about a group of animals, maybe mice, in a band, and the main singer was a blond female mouse, who was the focus of the movie (and desired by the villain, possibly). It may have involved some kind of quest, or had fantasy elements, and I recall it kind of having a darker tone than most kiddie fare - part of the reason I'm trying to remember it was I got into a discussion with a friend about things we watched as kids that were slightly disturbing.

This was the first think I thought of reading your post, and it still took me a little while to find it.

A Mouse and His Child

It's probably not what you're looking for, as it's not about a mouse band, but I figured I'd put it here anyway.

It's about 2 mechanical mice and their quest to become self winding. They end up joining other animals/toys. The villian is Manny the rat who runs a casino and enslaves toys. About an hour or so in there is a scene where the rats are singing, and dancing around with some blonde doll, and I do think the tone is darker than most kid films.

I believe in a universe that doesn't care, and people that do.

So in the early 2000s or late 90s, I rented several VHS tapes of lovely martial arts movies, since I was on a big "ninjas rule!" kick. I saw a (dubbed into french) movie which featured 2 teens that I'm pretty sure were brothers, and I'm 90% sure the title was "Jeunes Ninjas 2" or something along those lines. Unfortunately I can find extremely little evidence of a movie by this title existing either way, and what I thought was the movie's theme song was actually from a completely different terrible martial arts film.

Anyhow, the two teens go to this martial arts dojo, which has a rival dojo which is more evil. I think they were the Tigers and Scorpions respectively, but again, hazy memory. The older brother joins the scorpions for whatever reason, it turns out the sensei is training his students to do crimes, Shredder style. The older brother tries to stop them from murdering an old man who's house they were robbing, and gets an EAGLE CLAW to the throat for his weakness from the bad guy star pupil, killing him. His brother then goes on to face the scorpions at a martial arts tournament to avenge his sibling, and I thiiiink there was a part of the movie where he infiltrated the scorpions prior to that.

He almost gets EAGLE CLAWED in front of everyone since the evil sensei knew the judges wouldn't recognize a killing technique and it'd be ruled an accident. Some black kid (I think) from the Scorpions who'd been feeling guilty about the first killing saves him at the last second.

There's some kind of chase scene and the hero ends up fighting the killer in a vacant lot, and almost EAGLE CLAWS him in vengeance, but sees a vision of his brother shaking his head no, and doesn't kill the guy.

Now what the gently caress movie did I watch?

Here's another movie that I vaguely remember but can't seem to put my finger on. I think it's a horror film about a Vietnam War veteran (the movie looked like it was from the late 60s-early 70s?) coming home... except he came home different? He may have been a zombie of some sort. It is not Jacob's Ladder.

My strongest memory is of the trailer, which was pretty dark in terms of visuals. Also the veteran character was acting creepy and weird but his family doesn't seem to notice at all?

There was a movie I caught a bit of that aired on the British SKY-channel in the mid/late eighties. It might have been a TV-series or miniseries, but what I remember was two or maybe three kids in their early teens in a boat in a swamp. They got attacked by some creatures that looked like muddy hay bales. I think it was in English but it didn't quite have a British or US feel about it, maybe Australian or South African. Any ideas of what this might be?

It was a collection of old cartoons on VHS. The cover was yellow and blue, and had a crapload of cartoon characters on it. It was something like the "top 50 cartoons" or "50 best cartoons," but it could have been a number other than 50. The only specific cartoon I can remember from it was Casper the Friendly Ghost (the original where he meets Ferdie). Most of them were boring, disturbing, or both, and I'd love to see them again.

I have a terribly vague memory of a movie I once watched when I was little. I know this probably isn't enough to ever identify the movie, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm 29 now and I remember watching this when I was younger, between 6-10 years old. The end of the movie featured either a boy-girl couple, or a small group (2 girls, 1 guy?), I believe they were surfers? Somehow the bad guy, at the end, dies in a cave by backing/being shoved into a spike or something, which they clearly show protruding from the front of his chest.

As I said, I doubt this will be enough for an ID, but I remember that scene quite clearly (as my mom told me to cover my eyes, so naturally I peeked

Another one, which should be easier is from some horror movie. The scene shows air sucking into a chimney, by some supernatural means and a person grabs something to keep from being sucked up. Next thing that happens is their clothes are ripped off, but they remain holding onto something although they are totally horizontal off the ground due to this vacuum. I'm thinking maybe it was "House"? I tend to recall that movie was ridiculous..

I saw a movie a couple years ago that I wanted to recommend, but I can't remember what it's called. It's mostly just two people and it's almost entirely dialogue-driven.

A man and a woman meet in a cafe over coffee, after meeting on the internet. Through the conversation you realize it's not a date, and they're actually meeting to form a suicide pact. Later they end up in a hotel and try to go through with it.

I thought it would be a perfect film to adapt into a stage play, but I can't figure out the name for the life of me. Any help?

I know this isn't quite what you are describing, but it almost sounds like "The Lost Boys" and the timing is about right

In the end the bad guy is clearly impaled on a wooden spike. The small group is the mother and her two sons. Though the end takes place in a log cabin, a cave does factor in to the story pretty heavily.

One of my favorite movies of my childhood.

I'm gonna go inside, and I'm gonna get a shovel.
Watched a movie on Netflix almost a year ago and no longer have an account to look up the name of it.

Basically its a girl (maybe a singer?) with a horrible boob job who gets abducted. Her black body guard goes looking for her and ends up at some shady motel run by hillbillies. I guess they kidnap the women and black dudes at this hotel and stud them out on camera to produce perfect mulatto babies for rich people. He goes along with the plan until he eventually finds out the girl he was working for is now a sex slave. Awkwardness ensues when they try to get him to knock her up.

If it helps it probably has the worst rating on Netflix Instant with comments such as "worst movie ever" and "biggest waste of time". The editing and everything about the movie was awful and I'm really looking forward to seeing it again if I can get the title.

Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. is also in repose.
I just got a flash of a very brief scene I saw a long time ago. I think the movie is probably from the late-80s. It has that feel to it. Anyway, the shot is set up to look like two people having sex, the dude on top of the woman. They're both breathing heavy and all that. But then the camera starts to move and we realize it was actually turned on its side. As the camera straightens out, we see these two are actually working out on treadmills or whatever, side-by-side, facing each other.

I am trying to remember the name of what I believe is an independent movie. I don't remember much about the movie, and what I do remember is vague. The movie was about some dust bowl-esque town. There was a mysterious child that I think was supposed to represent an angel. There was a scene involving said child with a chandelier that was shot very nicely but that is all I can really remember about it. There was another plot int he film about a duo of men trying to buy up the property of the town. The entire imagery of the film was stark white. I also think it reportedly had a very low budget.

Sorry that this all is vague but trying to remember this thing is driving me up a wall.

Got two movies I need to identify

The first one I never actually saw. It had a GBS thread a couple years ago though and I was waiting for it to be released then totally forgot about it. The premise was that a group of people were slowly coming to the realization that they were aliens. I believe it made a few runs in film festivals and that's why the GBS thread was made. The trailer for it was real artsy, a soft serene song playing over clips from the movie. If it helps, the thread title of the GBS thread promised alien lesbians.

The second one I saw early to mid 90's. A couple of teens go vacationing in Europe or something like that and end up investigating a witches castle. The only scene I remember is that one of the teens threw a knife at a witch. She stops it mid air with her witch powers and sends it back into the dudes forehead.
