why is every nerd's automatic reaction to something they don't understand to label it stupid, poorly conceived or badly executed things exist that you may not grasp fully upon first experiencing, it's okay that doesn't make you a dumb or bad person, really

Those people inevitably heard "oh you just didn't get it" at least once when telling their friends or the internet that they didn't like it and that's lovely Saying "you must just be too dumb" is a rude way to invalidate someone's opinion and I won't have it on MY internet

i just watched inception and thought it was pretty cromulent, i had to wiki one or two things but for the most part thought it was well done and was an exciting watch

oh yeah thats another thing, there wasnt a single character that wasnt an unlikeable piece of poo poo except for Fassbender who was probably the only redeemable aspect of that movie other than the set pieces

inception, memento, and primer are all awesome because they are consistent and coherent even if they keep information from you or dont resolve everything prometheus was neither coherent nor consistent and the character motivations made no sense at all and characters had knowledge they should not have had. fassbot was amazingly portrayed but how he knew what he knew made no sense at all sometimes. i dont hate the film, i actually enjoyed it, but lets not pretend its problems are due to people "not understanding it"

i think the only thing i found inconsistent (but mostly because it felt like it was shoehorned in by the studio) was the alien cameo at the end it didn't quite ruin the movie, but scott should have been more willing to make the film stand on its own and not make a last-minute connection to establish it as a prequel or sidequel or something

so they're not direct sequels but the christian bale batman movies are just about as great as a comic book action hero movie can be. and the first one came out close to 20 yrs after the first burton one in 89.

few things since im catching up on this thread: jj trek owns. jj abrams owns (despite lens flare) die hard is best action movie, t2 is second a good director cant save bad writing, but good writing can save a mediocre director
