I don't know what to tell you except that this rom works for me and double check you're wiping data, cache, and Dalvik cache before you flash. If you were doing everything through CWM recovery, I'm not sure what you could have done to mess up any activation with Verizon.

Typically, radios aren't included in ROMs. So you could flash all the different jelly bean/ics ROMs that you want. Until you flash a proper radio, that won't change. Here is the 4.0.4 radio. Download/move to sd and flash through CWM http://wonderly.com/bb/TORO/OEM/I515.FC05_I515.FC04.zip You don't need to wipe anything before flashing this.

LastInLine posted:4.0.1 needs at least 512MB of RAM and a healthy amount of space in the /system partition and the Inc is right up against both (512/512). For what it's worth I've been doing runtesting on Andromadus Mimicry (4.0.4ICS) for the past few weeks on my G2 and it's actually pretty drat smooth. The only time you really run into any major lag issues is swapping big applications. For example, clicking a youtube link on one of the picture threads then booting directly into the youtube app when it hasn't been opened in a while. Believe me I'm pretty shocked that this device can even run ICS without a huge amount of errors, especially on the comparatively antiquated hardware that I have. I guess moving over to 4ext partitions and Supercharger V6 actually does make a difference. A darn good thing considering only two months ago we were arguing about the possibility of this even booting, much less being a 'mostly there' daily driver. Now for the downsides of this rom, since I've been meaning to do a little writeup. Application support. Stuff like Juicedefender simply won't do scheduled tasks properly and there are graphic errors on the little wifi meter when it does. LBE Security likes to freak out about once or twice a day and say "hey you lost root" when you didn't actually lose root. Google Voice sometimes hangs on outbound messages which requires rebooting to fix. From what I've read, Ghostly SMS app sometimes errors thanks to the V6 settings being set to aggressively. No swiftkey support for Swiftkey 3. There is an error with how capitalizations are handled when switching between hardware and software keyboard which is quite annoying. I've contacted Touchtype but they won't be fixing the issue even with logcats pinpointing what is going on. Users are advised to keep a backup of Swiftkey X and just not update. Now do note that these issues are entirely application issues and not functions of the rom being crap. Legitimate problems with the rom itself. Occasional full page text corruption. This is due to lack of proper drivers which is why any G2 dev worth his or her salt is chomping at the bit to get ahold of the Desire HD drivers. Currently this issue can be solved by booting the app out of local memory and restarting it. Depending on location there are issues with GPS. Fortunately the dev has thoughtfully packaged the EdKeys RIL automatcher for CM9/AOSP but that does require having pre-installed the .19 radio. Fortunately this is a fairly easy procedure. No Video Recording. None. If you go into the video recording part of the camera, it will shut down. On that note, there is no way to mute the camera shutter noise separate from turning off all phone noise. This is on the "to do" list of requests for the dev. Battery life could be better: According to the battery stats page my phone is awake most of the time and never really gets into proper deep sleep. However, according to better battery stats and juice plotter there aren't any wakelocks going on and when the screen is off and wifi is cranked down, there is almost zero % drain per hour. This puzzling issue, coupled with pretty rapid drain when actually doing much of anything, plus no Juicedefender support means you'll only get about 3 hours screen on time and a solid days worth of power as opposed to nearly two days moderate use. I know that battery life is one of those big points of contention and will always vary thanks to a variety of factors but I thought it pertinent to mention. So what does all this salad mean? Has Slopehead finally found a rom that isn't officially classed as a 'stable' rom but has few enough issues that it's worth putting up with? The long and short of it would be....Yeah. It's pretty good, even with the occasional hiccup. The Dev is incredibly responsive with questions and concerns, actively updates his repo, and shoves in new features that aren't asinine. If you're on a G2/DZ and have been waiting for an Ice Cream Sandwich rom that is largely driver material then this would be about as good as it is going to get for the time being. Certainly better than the myriad Sense 3.5 roms which are literally to bloaty to work well after a week. \/\/\/\/ I haven't seen any word on that so far. How long ago was that released? Speaking of which, HTC released ICS for the incredible s which uses the same soc as the Desire HD which I think we were waiting for to get some much needed components for the Desire Z. Has there been any word on improvements derived from that rom? Edit: I don't know how much I buy the performance issue argument because the One V has 512MB ram and a similar processor which I'm certain we could make up for with a modest overlock. Because the voice capabilities in Now make level 16 calls that don't exist in ICS (level 15).

So, it appears that I broke the wifi on my G2. I'm now on a nexus, but I was hoping to be able to fix the G2 and sell for cash. Am I right to assume the radio includes the WiFi driver? I'm thinking I may just try to flash the RUU and see if stock is any better, but I assume a rooted g2 would sell better than non? edit: Broke in the sense that it does not pick up any wifi signal anymore. I can't see anything using wifi analyzer either. The saved ssid's are still listed, but don't pick up when the phone is on top of the router. I had a bad battery, it got all puffy to the point that I could not close the back plate. I've replaced it and resolved my random reboots. I hoped it would be 2 birds 1 stone kind of moment. deong fucked around with this message at 21:27 on Jul 6, 2012 |

Anyone on 4.1 have issues with a lower speaker volume? Volume+ is what I used for ICS, but it seems to have no effect at all on JB. It's kind of a big deal since I use it for my alarm and it just isn't loud enough to wake me up at the normal setting. e: I should actually correct that. The volume isn't exactly lower so to speak, it's at the same level it was in ICS, however no volume mods seem to work on it. Akileese fucked around with this message at 22:25 on Jul 6, 2012 |

I have no idea, but you could buy a $5 set of cheapo PC speakers for your nightstand and get an alarm app to blast the alarm through them. It's nice if you use something like Gentle Alarm where you can disable playing through the "Alarm Stream" so that the sound will play out the headphone jack. Just have it fade in some black metal progressively louder until you're up

So the restore seems to have screwed up a few folders when I rooted my GNex using the toolkit, and ROM manager doesn't recognize that the toolkit gave me CWM recovery. Do I reflash CWM recovery, then run the permission repair kit? Also, I renamed some folders to fix issues with associated apps, but can't delete them in EStrongs, is there a way to get these folders deleted? E: unrelated, which root tether app is in vogue with goons this season? Barnacle?

Yea.. For what its worth the battery didn't become noticeably bigger until the rebooting/wifi issues. It only took it about 2 days to go from slight bulge to too big to snap the back tight. It seemed to go pretty quick.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask - I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to modify the Search button on my Razr to open up the Recent Apps (in 4.0.4) list instead. Google tells me that's not really possible (at least the new Ice Cream Sandwich version) without some crazy source code modifications... Is there an another way? It just seems like such an easy change to make. I have root on stock at the moment.
