jadebullet posted:So, was the old IG Armored Company rules a second edition thing? The friend who got me into the hobby ran one exclusively, and I never beat him. (Even in a 3 against one match.) If it's the list I'm thinking of, he was probably cheating. There was an Armored Company list that had all sorts of special rules he didn't tell you about. Every weapon had a chance to glance, the ACompany wasn't allowed to drive within 3" of terrain, and there was some other crazy poo poo to balance out that most armies weren't built to deal with an all-tanks army. Does glancing a Leman Russ with a lasgun sound familiar? No? Cheating.

Are reserve armies going to be more viable now? You can start one squad sitting in an aegis line with a comm relay and basically everyone can get reserve re-rolls now.

Does it require a model to do anything with that comm relay? Like give up shooting or something? Because it would be a pretty cool spot for Pathfinders in an Eldar reserve army.

Reserves are definitely more reliable, but you can't rely on them entirely because of the rule that says you lose automatically if you don't have any models on the table at the end of a game turn. While you could do this, you could also just bring an autarch. Remember those dudes?

The starter set is probably still September, and the Chaos book might be August? WD scans should be showing up any day now.

Might as well counter that tank with my tank that I painted today: The writing on the side of the tank says "Annihilate the Fascists" and the writing on the barrel says "Crush", while the star is just a star! I also finished the snipers and some of their buddies: Expect better pictures of at least the Basilisk in the next few weeks when I get my camera back.

I hate running duplicate same-pose models of anything that's really eye-catching, so the FW ones are really nice - but I've seriously been assembling this thing off-and-on for over a year now.

Nah, he was fully in the rules. We double checked when we played. I was playing Tau at the time and my list was not the best. (essentially the old battleforce plus as many railguns as I could find.) I had no problem hitting his tanks, or even penetrating. I just tended to get weapon destroyed or crew shaken results. We were just playing for fun though, with the models on the floor and his pile of skin mags representing buildings.

Not sure if this would fit better into the modeling thread but whats the most economical way of doing a vendetta conversion? seems most bitz sellers are out of land raider and predator Lascannons, I could pony up for the forgeword bitz but it seems excessive for whats a rather simple conversion.

I ask again, Legion of the Damned: points costs aside, are these mother fuckers even remotely useful now that Slow and Purposeful has changed, or do they still suck complete rear end? They're still really expensive Tac Marines with the ability to move and shoot a heavy weapon. Just buy the models and use them as Sternguard or something.

And both were warped in the exact same way, so you know it was a problem with the mold.

WhiteOutMouse posted:Those rocks are floating, in case people just breeze past it. Very cool. I want to know what those clear sticks are made out of. Plastic, my man. Cut from a fibre-optic-ish toy. Might as well use fishing line or really thin clear weed-eater cord. In short lengths it stands straight, or be bent and stay in place, and will hold the chunks of cork no problem. The effect is better in person, where you can move around it and not see the strands as easily.

Stiff fishing wire with cork might make the rocks bob up and down. Which makes it even cooler. I wanted DBZ kind of floating rocks around my display board to represent the chaos storm descending upon the planet's surface. This is something I am going to do.

They'll only bob for a second once you set the board down, unless you've got a fan on it or something.
