Hitchcock never said the bomb under the table shouldn't go off, anyways. He said that when you have two people eating at a table, and suddenly a previously unseen bomb under the table explodes, then that's shock or surprise. But when you have the same two people eating, and the audience knows that there's a bomb under the table but it hasn't gone off yet...then that's suspense. The key is that the audience has to know, so that way you build up even more tension. Because then the audience is watching the two people eating their Cheerios and droning on about the news or whatever, and the whole time they're going Get the hell out of there, you idiots, there's a bomb under the table!! Time for another UK indie match for you. This is a promotion called Futureshock based in Stockport (just outside Manchester) and last year they put on this match between Davey Richards and Jack Gallagher. Jack Gallagher is a very traditional "grappler" (think Danielson or Regal) who trained at the Snake Pit in Wigan (where the likes of Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid trained) as well as Billy Robinson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Robinson) and is rapidly becoming one of my favourite UK wrestlers.
