I do like how risque 90s TV could be. Even in this show you have gems like 'I think the colours go well together'.

Really? I thought they'd banned those stupid quiz shows? I haven't seen one in years.

Honestly, I think I confused myself while tired last night, it was home shopping poo poo for 2 hours (12.15am-2.15am), SuperCasino was on 5. Oh wait, tonight on ITV (12.15-2.30) is Jackpot 247 which I'm sure is quality programming, though as someone said they must be doing because they have gently caress all money.

Is there anything decent on ITV these days? The last things I recall watching were TV Burp, You've Been Framed and Take Me Out but even those require a disclaimer of some sort. You've been framed seems to be 50% stuff I've seen before, and Take Me Out is fun but can leave you with an aftertaste of shame.

Not much fun
Err, no. Since TV Burp and The South Bank Show ended, the only stuff I've watched on ITV has been the occasional episode of Take Me Out and Gossip Girl repeats. And I need to shower after them.

They've become so desperate that their new series is a spoof reality TV show 'starring' Keith Lemon. Exactly how long do they think that premise can last without getting tedious?

For as long as I can remember ITV has always been mediocre.

Years ago there used to be the odd US cheese on a saturday afternoon when the Pools were on the telly (what a loving chore that was to have on: sunderland shitbag wanders.... nil; tottenham bumsquirts... 3) but overall there was maybe Taggart, The Bill and whatever kids stuff was on at 4pm.

Anyone seen the trailer for the Keith Lemon Movie? It's like ITV 2: The Film. Of course if I was writing a film for myself I'd write Kelly Brook as my girlfriend too.

I'm still fond of the Poirot adaptations they're producing. David Suchet is rather marvellous in the role, and he's only got three/four more to go before he's starred in every single Poirot story Agatha Christie ever wrote (Something like 40 novels and 50 short stories!). It's a pretty remarkable achievement.

But that's the only thing ITV do that I still like. Even their adaptations of Miss Marple are abominable.

Does anybody know the name of a really low budget game show which pretty much revolved around people playing PC games? I'm not talking about a review type format like Gamesmaster, it was two teams playing PC games against each other. The games I remember them playing were a really dismal looking tank shooter and then I'm guessing a Counter Strike mod?

I'd be interested in reading that Crystal Maze contestant account if anybody has a link.

I feel the same about them looking at Hornblower and Sharpe, but the chances of them dishing out that much money for some good old swash buckling slightly cheesy Historical action drama these days are slim to none.

I remember this, if only for the fact my Mum found the "android's" wonky metal bra to be hilarious ( and the varying levels of wonkyness giving the game away that she'd been filmed out of sequence )

Also that it was on before Time Trax, a series that depicted a terrifying future where white people were called names. Gasp!

The guy who wrote this comes across as an unbelievable cock. What was he expecting, it's a television show.

Also from brief internet catch-up on the Crystal Maze I have just learned that Richard O'Brien is 70 years old. I know that show was 20 years ago now, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show (which I can't stand) was in the 70s, but it still seems surprising he's that old.

I've surprised myself by how much I don't like Gary Lineker anymore, I just don't think he seems very sincere about anything. I'm probably being very unfair but i can't shake that impression for some reason. To be fair to Inverdale he is usually surrounded by Lewis, Jackson and Johnson and trying to keep the show going when they are knocking around like loons can't be easy. As a group they make for good telly though with their camaraderie coupled with depth of knowledge.

Aphex-

Yeah I can totally see that Lineker is insincere, he seems to say the same things with every person he interviews. I think I found Inverdale wierd because when he was presenting the rowing he just has no idea how to console people when they don't get a medal. He is pretty funny because of it though.

I think Clare Balding totally wins best presenter, she's just so enthusiastic with the swimming.

I've developed such a crush on Clare Balding during the Olympics (think I'm probably barking up the wrong tree, though...). Her rapport with Mark Foster and Ian Thorpe (who has also been a bit of a revelation) was just brilliant, as were her interviews with Bert le Clos. John Inverdale is awesome; he's got a Des Lynam-esque ladies' man air to him.

Why am I watching horse-dancing?

Edit: Definitely not a fan of Jake Humphrey, though. I think it's the way he pronounces every syllable in every word like some sort of presenting robot.

Richard O'Brien is 70? Keith Chegwin is 56, Keith Harris 64, Johnny Ball 74, LIONEL BLAIR IS 80.

We're long overdue for a massive wave of deaths of popular 70s/80s/90s entertainers. It was bad enough when Frank Sidebottom died.
