Since it's moving slowly in here anyway - the Spotify Genre Playlists thread could sure use some DnB playlists. If any of you guys would like to tackle some subgenres, it would be much appreciated!

I've been in love with Malaky. The song brings me a lot of relaxation for some weird reason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubwDxFpnYTU Komatic and Technicolor has always been a favorite of mine as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBWqxF7hH1Q I just love good summer vibes.

There is a pretty good website I've stumbled across called http://dogsonacid.com They have some really good sets, but a few crappy ones. Some ones to really look out for on there are by; 2Sides Dabs Soul Intent Physics and a few others, new sets uploaded monthly by different D&B artists of all different kinds of subgenres also forums for people to post their own mixes and get advice etc

Friday Five: Someone & Someone Else Edition Note I'm not very good at thinking of good themes so feel free to use your own if you want to join in (Or for that matter just post five tracks that you like, it's all good). - No Problem - Chase & Status - Mind Feeders - Dom & Roland - Crackball - Ed Rush & Optical - Menace - Chase & Status - Infusion - Noisia & Black Sun Empire

I'll get in on this one: Dom & Keaton - Twisted City Noisia & The Upbeats - Blindfold A good newbie Shimon & Moving Fusion - Hangman Always liked this one for some reason Chase & Status - Druids (This will always be how I remember them) Marcus Intalex & ST Files - Love & Happiness This will never ever ever ever come out of my bag. It's guaranteed to do well, every time. My age and ability to keep up with new releases is showing.

I don't know, I just remember druids because Andy C or somebody played it in an essential mix or something and it just really grooved. My cousin, also a DJ, has tons of their stuff from RH as he was pretty enamored with the harder stuff while I stuck mostly to deeper or lighter things. I love it all, though.

Wait, we can post mixes here, too? I put this one together from transitions I've been using live, plus I fired off some roughly-mixed originals to open and close the set. Still a handful of EQ/filter mistakes - and the transition from Messiah to Dustup is pretty weak, but I think it turned out well overall. Let me know what you think! http://soundcloud.com/centurion-beats/in-stereo-drum-bass-mix Centurion - Save Us Protone & RoyGreen - Soulful Brotherhood Homegrowerz - Young Gal Wilkinson - Moonwalker Decimal Bass - Bonus Life Dub Motion - Awakened Calyx & TeeBee - Hurting BLADERUNNER - Run for Cover Rusko - Thunder (Tantrum Desire remix) Mind Vortex - Hotbox Major Lazer - Get Free (Andy C remix) Phetsta & ShockOne - The Sun Sub Focus - Out the Blue Netsky - Give & Take Tantrum Desire - Reach Birdy Nam Nam - Goin' In (Skrillex remix) Phetsta - Disco Dog Gein - Chemistry Konflict - Messiah (Spor remix) Noisia & The Upbeats - Dustup Lifelink - End Game TC - Tap Ho Centurion - Snatch (Rough mix)

Another track I recently received a Hospital e-mail about, Danny Byrd's new single: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQNjjLN0gA8 Sounds like he tried to combine old-school jungle with more contemporary liquid. It's alright. Pretty funky. Not a total standout like that S.P.Y. track but it's not bad either. Oh, and here's a track I heard on di.fm's liquid station last night that I really dig. Pretty atmospheric-sounding with a wicked rear end bassline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmwXtisLgGw Heard this one for the first time the other day, too. I listen to a lot of drum n bass that many drum n bass purists probably hate or think is nothing special, but even I can't stand this one: Nuage - September Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm1bNIQ20zw It's because of the vocals. They just sound so weird and off-putting. I'd never heard it before this month, but di.fm has played this at least 3 times that I've heard. So I'm pretty glad that September's almost over, since hopefully that means they'll stop playing it

New S.P.Y album dropped. Banging this poo poo at max volume shaking my house, will report back. SO far: gently caress YEAH!!!! 1. You: great sound, pretty deep intro and a huge drop into a smooth, banging sub bass. Pretty great tune. 2. Analogue Dreams: Not really my favorite style of dnb but it's good. The bass sounds are dope as hell. 3. Back Again: Dark as hell. Can see this being absolutely huge in a club set. I can see the darker dnb heads really liking this one. 4. Love Hurts: Piano tune! Funky with a great smooth bass as to be expected. More of a chillout type tune, inbetween the rest of the album. Absolutely love the piano though, great vibes. 5. Infiltrate - SO DIRTY. Holy poo poo. Mind blown. zeldadude fucked around with this message at 23:41 on Sep 30, 2012 |

As someone just making the transition from dousing myself in hours and hours of liquid, it's been really cool to dip into the ragga/jungle scene. This promo mix did a pretty good job converting me to a jungle fan. I'm not gonna do a huge tracklisting but suffice it to say this mix rules pretty hard

zeldadude posted:New S.P.Y album dropped. Banging this poo poo at max volume shaking my house, will report back. Man, I agree. I'm listening to it now, and I know that a lot of DNB doesn't get released in album format, so I'll say that this is the best compiled group of drum-n-bass tracks I've heard since Logistics' Fear Not earlier this year. S.P.Y. seems to have a more ambitious, heavier sound than most. Back Again is giving off serious Black Sun Empire vibes and I dig the hell out of it. Love Hurts is so pretty and chill And the title track is still the complete shocker it was when I first heard it a couple nights ago. What an insane track. This is like the gold standard that all future liquid should be compared to. God, Hammer In My Heart is loving wicked. I love this album. This is probably gonna be my new go-to for dark DNB for a while. Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 05:50 on Oct 1, 2012 |
