Doesn't have to be a whole super story line, but at least like responding to street crimes like True Crime.

Seemed to have fixed my crashing, only real gripes about the game now are the crappy and inconsistent camera. Asides from the occasional shittiness on foot, the fact that if you drive off with your camera at one angle instead of swinging behind the car it spins round to the opposite angle which is retarded. Also losing all control besides movement for a good few seconds after finishing a mission, despite mashing enter. I just want to kill the last drug bust thug come on come on never mind he's long gone.

Very fun though! I think I ran through all of Tran's missions before I did anything else so the game began with a furious clothes shop, banging all the cashier's heads off the counter.

Any ideas on if how moddable this game is? If the moddability is anything remotely close to GTA IV, this might be the best sandbox game of all time. I got the Triad Enforcer pack, but I'm still jealous of all the people who get to run around in their GSP outfit.

Go to a parking garage and you can set which vehicle the valet will bring. It defaults to the first bike you get otherwise.

I managed to get my car stuck on a narrow set of stairs, I wasn't sure if I was just going to be stuck or what, turns out Wei kicks out the windshield and climbs out the front of the car, I thought that was a nice touch.

Another random thing that surprised me, I was trying to use a taxi but hijacked it by mistake, I drove forward a bit but stopped because I was looking at the minimap a bit. Then a dude gets into my cab, and I was thinking "Is there actually a taxi driver minigame here?" Then Wei says "Do I look like a cab driver to you?" and the dude ran away screaming. It was a nice unexpected laugh.

Found some kinda cool stuff this morning..

I hopping into a cigarette boat and was cruising around the island looking for collectibles, when I accidentally beached myself a LOOONG way from any other boats. Luckily you can push boats around slightly on land, so I was able to get it back into the water and continue cruising, rather than the world's longest and most boring swim back to land..

Second, I came across a spot to the NW of Aberdeen, a big fancy restaurant on the waterfront. Near this restaurant is a Face mission (Truck Recovery), and a big, fenced shipping yard that's full of about 15+ enemy gang members in several groupings - every single one of whom seems to be an unarmed Striker type enemy. If you stay to the area that one grouping spawned in, then the enemies from the other nearby areas will rush over to assist their buddies, and then they'll respawn during the fight so you can effectively fight forever!

Can anyone compare the size of this to like SR2/3 or Just Cause 2? I saw the one guy who said the main story was over in 12 hours, and was wondering how much content side missions/collectibles or whatever add.

I'd estimate it's about the same size of Steelport. The story is about as long as Saints 3's, if SR3 didn't have all the activity fluff missions.

So uh... fun bug. I don't know how close this is to the end so don't look unless you're done.

During the funeral, Sonny Wo's character model didn't load. The cops arrested an invisible man. It made Big Smile Lee's "Where the gently caress is Sonny?" line quite a bit funnier.

I play sandbox games in a milk and cookies style, playing the side missions between story missions so that hopefully I finish the game with everything done at about the same time. I know that once the story is over, side mission stuff feels anti-climactic so I try to leave the final mission as the last thing that I do. I'm currently at 28 hours in, with 60% story completion, and about 71% overall completion. I've done all the side jobs, found about 70% of all collectibles, nearly all the races and I should have a straight run through to the end. I reckon I should get to about 34 hours for full completion.

And it's been gold all the way so far. loving gold.

I played this for 15 minutes back at E3 and thought it looked pretty drat cool.

Picked it up last night and so far it's the most fun I've had in an open world game since Red Dead (my favorite still). One of my first 'holy poo poo, this is awesome!' moments was when I jumped off a wall and drop kicked 2 guys to the ground, grabbed another and smashed his head into the wall, countered 2 guys in a row, and then smashed a dude into a phone booth. It all happened in such a fluid, action movie-like way and it was awesome. Loving it so far!

So I was thinking of getting the retro DLC, what are the exact bonuses that you gain? I assume you need to wear the set to gain the effect, or is it onepiece gives all/part individually?

Also what's the Top Dog pack actually do? It says "gain new abilities" however, I have a sneaking hunch that the new abilities are just the skill points you'd gain from leveling up normally - not unique moves..?

What happens in 3rd Street stays in 3rd Street.

I've just been driving around stealing cars for Tran and doing the various face missions I can find - note that some only appear if you drive near them, I had one come up that told me to investigate a disturbance, one where a thief stole something off a dude, and one where a woman was trapped in the boot of a car. If you see yellow shields on the map check them out.

But anyway, I was doing this and decided to do some mission that happened to give me a machine gun and didn't take it away afterwards, and then immediately did a mission (cheaters never prosper pt3) where I had to race to a location on my bike then got attacked by thugs who were pissed at me since I had been destroying their race cars for this guy. I pulled out my gun and shot the gently caress out of them while having Eminence Front play in the background - the radio didn't stop for some reason even though I was on foot at the time, then smashed up a car with a tire iron. It was beautiful.

I loved that mission because by that point in the chain the guys have gotten wise to you smashing the poo poo out of their cars, but even jumping you before you get to work they can't stop you, and Wei just quips "I hope this'll teach you a lesson" before getting right back to what he came to do in front of their broken bodies.

Just went to Winston's wedding. I knew what was coming from all the previews, but it still felt like a punch to the gut. There was just so much blood... And then, of course, Wei Shen has to fulfill his 'worst cop' quota for the mission by saving Uncle Po (at least for now). One minor detail I noticed that I liked was when you're crossing the street to the hospital, one of the guys covering you on the roadblock is the dude who gives the favor missions where he always needs you to be his getaway driver. I like that they have actual characters in the game who show up when it would make sense for them to, rather than just mission givers and objectives. Same feeling I had with Ming's continued appearances.

I bought the retro triad set, you get a cool van and a costume from a HK movie that I don't get the reference to and I don't know the stat bonus it gives but it looks cool so vOv
The top dog pack is just 3000 xp in police, triad and face, it doesn't give you anything extra.

You get pants, shoes, a vest, hair (as a hat), a watch and bracelet (Which are actually both gloves) and glasses.

They're separate pieces, you don't need to wear the set.

The gloves give +5% melee damage each, and the hair gives +5% face when no other hat does anything. Those pieces alone are pretty useful.

Big Trouble In Little China. Boss film, everyone should see it.

Individual parts of the outfit give you stat boosts. The fingerless gloves give you extra melee damage apiece and from the wording the clothes give you extra Triad xp.

That is correct. Sometimes incoming cars slow down way ahead of you, and you spend less time between two cars if you need to squeeze through. You can usually find a good sized gap to swing through to the correct lane if the incoming lane is too much/too little.

Oncoming traaffic also has more predictable AI than regular cars when you get into a challenge a ways, too. The AI seems to get more and more aggro at you and switches lanes and stuff way more often when you're doing a wheelie for more than 15 or 20 seconds, for instance.

Well I don't know about the triad xp thing (I got level 10 before completed the story), either go back and do the missions again or, I don't know :(

The gun thing is what I'm trying to do at the moment, on the bottom of the cop tier at the end of the tier ladder, you can get guns from police cars. Other then that I don't know sorry :(.
