What about the other option, that Ysengrin kills Eglamore? Like "Oh, Ysengrin, you badass motherfucker, Jesus Christ."

Fried Chicken posted:It's worth noting that in most of the folk stories, Ysengrin does end up dying, severely hurt, or otherwise end tragically. So maybe nobody takes him, and he's doomed to an eternal cycle of living as the butt of Coyote's jokes before dying in abject humiliation, only to come back again for more torment. That'd drive any wolf-tree-myth a little bonkers.

I'm liking this chapter so far. For some reason I had a hard time staying interested in chapters 37 and 38, even though they had some cool panels now and then. Looking forward to seeing how this works out. It seems like the story is about to kick into high gear.

I think I'm gonna grab a Ysengrin avatar but I'm gonna wait till the end of the chapter so I can choose good text (and also so I don't buy one then see a better one the nest update)

Dunno why that sprung to mind after seeing that pic.

Feels like way too much of a plot point to not have happen. Jimmy Jims probably cut Ysengrin from his trees or otherwise stopped him. No matter, Ysengrin's pride and developing 'softness' is probably dead

Yeah, Eglamore is a really fast guy with a really big sword, but there's still only so much that can do to Ysengrin. I doubt that we'll see any major GC characters die this chapter, but it's still possible that Something Very Bad could be happening.

Those avatars are funny but seriously I just remembered to read the update and that panel is scary as gently caress.

Eglamore was using a regular sword during that confrontation. Who knows what'll happen if he breaks out that crazy glowing sword strapped to his back at the beginning of this chapter? Not that I think anything awful is going to happen.

I sure hope nothing serious happens to Ysengrin. I wanted Annie to learn some humility, not watch a friend die or get maimed in front of her. Less than 4 hours until we find out what happens. We have no clue if Surma had any interaction with Ysengrin right? That panel where Elgamore yells "Surma" made me wonder if they had any.

Considering Surma was the Court medium, it would've been weird for her to not have any interaction with Ysengrin. Especially considering he was probably less crazy back then.
