Honestly this is the one thing that Pete does that goes against his whole self-perception as a 'big retarded Golden Retriever'. He seems to think that everyone will be on board with his ideas and opinions in the same way that he will follow Duncan Trussell down some hippy-dippy acid-eating rabbit hole. Granted that's often what makes the show good but it's a thin line that he's walking every time he does that.

Eh...I just listened to it and Glaser came off a little worse to me than Holmes did. I liked that it actually developed into some conversation about the topic and the awkwardness that happened, but I understand why Holmes brought it up originally and he was pretty quickly and sincerely apologetic when he thought he came off like an rear end in a top hat.

I don't think bringing up getting the e-trade thing was assholish--especially when he thought Glaser was cool with it and they could discuss it--I think Glaser came off as super defensive and "made it weird" on his own. That being said, he seemed to get over it and move on really quickly from an obviously struck nerve.

I just listened to the episode and holy poo poo it was way worse than I thought it was going to be. I felt super awkward just sitting listening to it, by myself. Holmes was just bringing up something that he and Glaser shared, it shouldn't have been as terribly awkward as it was. I think it started out weird, he basically forced Pete to ramble when he came out instead of being entertaining like Eric and Jackie were.

Gelman I just expected to be awkward and weird, that's his thing usually and I dig it sometimes.

Botox is an ok thing to talk about, since like, 2000? Also the point of Throwing Shade is them being the worst.

Actually liked the last How Did This Get Made? live. They were pretty pumped up since Road House is a great movie. The jokes were good, Mantzoukas talked A LOT which is a plus, so it really depends on the guest... speaking of which... Doug Benson wasn't as much a guest on the podcast as a guest in that they let some guy sit on stage. He must have been so baked he forgot to talk about the film. He did a little, but it was so little interaction he had to have been completely out of it.

I went to go see the Thrilling Adventure Hour live in New York this past weekend. It was a really fun evening. I highly recommend seeing it if they come back or roll through your town. My only complaint was it was all performances of episodes I had heard before. However seeing it done live was great. I grabbed a script at the end of the show!

They announced that they are going to be having a kickstarter campaign to produce a bunch of stuff including a graphic novel & some video stuff. It hasn't been officially announced yet.

Lou, I just listened to August 19th, 2011 (Confessions). I used to think that the best part of the whole podcast was whenever you got to weirded out to continue, but now I have a new "best part":

"How long were you standing there? ...you didn't hear anything I just read, did you?"

Nearly died laughing.

Ha. The next episode, which I'm editing now, I had a similar event and the topic was way grosser. Unfortunately I had to rerecord the whole episode because of tech problem. More than a few times I've been reading something completely wretched and had to pause mid-story. I don't always include them... Especially if its something that someone I work with would question why I was reading a particular site at work... Ah, University Life.

1. The pledge drive is literally only one day (Oct 15) so just avoid that week's episode I guess
2. In what way was Monty any better than Jesse? I mean aside from 'Not Being Jesse Thorn' and rargggg how dare he exist or something!

Jesse's actually really improved since I started listening. I don't listen to JJGo or anything, but when I first started listening to Judge John Hodgman, Jesse would often interrupt for no reason. he doesn't do that as much now, and is actually geniuinely entertaining IMO.

I'm firmly in the pro-Thorn camp, but this idea does irk me a little. "It's only one day" that they spend a month advertising, as opposed to two weeks that they spend a month advertising. I'm getting a month of nagging either way.

If "nagging" consists of Bryan y Erin making fake phone calls to each other, I want more than a month of it.

I'd agree if literally every podcast in the network didn't do their own plugs for the drive with their own jokes and their own treatments and all. Like, somehow I can endure a bunch of a funny people spending a few minutes to say 'hey give us some money so we can do this more' in funny ways.
