Just moved to Stockholm, haven't had much time to go out with the camera yet, but this light did catch my eyes. (I also don't have my usual editing setup so it isn't processed quite as I want to.)

UNF by Brad Gillette, on Flickr I made some long-overdue upgrades which will really help to overcome some interior shooting hurdles and help me take my work to the next level. - Canon 5D Mk II + BG-E6 - Canon TS-E 17/4L - Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod + 410 3-Way Geared Head + 555 Leveling Center Column The difference in initial image quality is like night and day. I was up shooting until 5:00am this morning. I'll be in the same situation tonight processing them all. It'll be worth it.

aliencowboy posted:What were you shooting with before? In chronological order: - Olympus E-300 (4/3rds) + kit lens - Canon Rebel XTi + 17-40L - Hasselblad 500C + Zeiss Distagon 50/4 C - Hasselblad 500CM + Zeiss Distagon T 50/4 CFi - Canon 40D + 17-40L + 10-22 - Borrowed 5Dmk2 from a friend whenever I had a shoot - Rebel T2i with Magic Lantern My old tripod was a decade-old silver Bogen-Manfrotto with those horrible twist-locks and only raised as high as my chin. It had a super-stiff 322RC2 grip-action ball head that would knock the camera everywhere whenever I tried to make the slightest adjustment. Needless to say, this new setup is zen-like. I think I'm going to try adding a single-axis focusing rail for slight side-to-side movements when trying to line up symmetrical shots.

Have you ever considered going back to film with large format for your interior design/architecture work? It seems like it would be well suited. I guess there's also a point at which clients don't know or care about differences in the final product for it to be worth the hassle. edit: I didnt realize this was the low-effort thread, sorry for making posts burzum karaoke fucked around with this message at 00:29 on Oct 1, 2012 |

I guess there's also a point at which clients don't know or care about differences in the final product for it to be worth the hassle. With the TS-E 17/4 I can take an image larger than the 5d's sensor by shifting the lens and stitching. I'd say the image quality is better than what I used to get from 6x6 Hasselblad Flextight scans. With the added conveniences of digital capture and not having to spot for dust. I sometimes do reminisce and dream of returning to film, but then I remember losing 55 rolls of 120 on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago and having to covertly fly back on my own dime and reshoot an entire two-week travel campaign while telling my agency that the film lab must be backed up.
