So, after years of staying away from the competitive BMX scene I decided to give it a go this past week down in Austin Texas and won best in Amateur flatland at the Texas Toast jam! I hadn't ridden in around 2 months prior to going down there for the week, so this was the most amazing and rewarding thing ever and I could not be happier. Here is my winning contest run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4u3sH1jMCQ There were 24 riders and the runs were judged on Consistancy, originality, and difficulty. I ended up with a score of 98. I invented a lot of the switches in my run and nobody else is really doing them, so I was only docked for touching and sketching out a bit, still won though. After riding 30+ hours in the last week to catch up, and a 13 hour trip home, I am exhausted. edit: Just had a post contest interview thing too.
