Whoa, Vint BW is still chugging along? Man that's an app that just won't quit, I don't think it has been updated in 3 years. The file system part of it quit working a few iOS versions ago but you can still give photos the Vint look by using it on a generation 1 iPad since it doesn't have a camera so Vint looks to open files on startup. Only nofinder and Streetmate come close to the Vint "look", I'd like to see it come back.

I really like vint, and I like not being able to import or edit photos with it. Does a fantastic job.

I thought camera phones were so lame, until I had my own. It really is a fun thing to play around with, and especially great in a place you're not allowed to use a regular camera. Some recent ones:

I notice a lot of people here are using Instagram. (Rufus83 for those looking to follow someone). How are you using the app? Are you taking photos in-app, or are you taking photos with the normal camera app and then hitting the photo with Instagram after editing it a little on the phone?

I usually just take photos with the default camera app on my mobile and then edit it with one of the editing apps or Instagram's own filters before uploading to Instagram etc. (I'm Heyimneise for anyone looking to follow some people) What apps are people using in conjunction with Instagram or what are some good photo editing apps in general?

If I'm Instagramming, I'll just use the camera in it's app. I also cheat and post my DSLR photos there too.

Staring off I just completely Instagramed it up. I have wizened up and since been using Magic Hour or SlowShutter for taking and editing pictures, and just spamming it up on Instagram.

Me and the wife went on vacation (well, it was a business trip for my wife, but I was on vacation), 8 days in Ireland, 4 days in Rome. I went all geared-up with my dSLR, but honestly I took almost as many photos with my phone. I got into instagramming poo poo in a big way. Everything shot with the iphone camera, and edited in Snapseed. Afterglow is another app I've used a bit lately, but I still stick with Snapseed, mostly. Dublin Train Station Guys. I swear, I thought I was sneaky; it wasn't until I saw this on a monitor that I realized that guy totally saw me doing this...and smiled anyway. Oddly, plane guy is the best photo. When I was in Rome, the Circus Maximus was probably the biggest disappointment. It sounds awesome, but it's practically a plain field.

Hipstamatic's magazine, Snap is available for iPhones now. It's a pretty good read because they have lots of nice photos and they list what components the photographer used so you can get a good idea of what certain lenses, films or whatever can do. One thing I really wish Hipstamatic would do is have an option to lock focus at infinity like it used to. There are so many times I want to take a photo and the camera either is still focusing or starts refocusing and I miss the shot. HPL fucked around with this message at 20:53 on Dec 2, 2012 |

I'm a little disappointed and what appears to be a combination of uncorrected barrel distortion and a crooked building that has been blown up a few times, but the Motorola Droid X actually did the scene justice.
