Should all DLC in TVHM be done in play through 2.5?
I am only 42 and want to try the Torgue DLC but don't know if I should go back to play through 1 in order to not spoil it by having it level under 50.

So I beat the Torgue arena and Mr. Torgue yells "The Vault is Opening! Lootsplosion!" and absolutely nothing happens. The End. Credits and runnin back to Moxxxi.

What gives?!

There should've been a small fountain of loot in the middle of the arena. The credits roll but the items are there after.

Question for you guys. My buddy and I finished the torgue dlc just now and after the credits he got an error message. It was something along the line of "Error: To start ?win? NAME_PLAYTHROUGH_3 you must finish all quests." Anyone know anything about this?

Edit: I guess I should clarify that this was on xbox, it was lan play, and it's an unmodified system so willow tree, or whatever the modding tool is, isn't a factor here.

I had the exact same bug, I think the only way you can get in on the LOOTSPLOSION is through multiplayer. If you go back into the arena, only Badassasaurus respawns who only drops two or three guns, no Pistol.

I was playing online with my buddy.

So you can't redo the whole thing and make it pop again?

So funny bug, I was fighting Motor Mamma and I ran towards the way you come in to take some cover and she bugged out and drove into the wall to the right and just sat there shouting at me but not firing. So I just finished her off with a pistol (had her down to about 60% when the bug happened). Pretty easy fight.

I've been playing with Zero and haven't kept a pistol for longer than 10 minutes or so.

What advantage do they have over other weapon types? They just don't seem to do anything better than the others.

Jacobs Pistols/Revolvers are one of the more powerful weapons and fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, I took out The Warrior with one on my first playthrough, if you want an Elemental Jacobs, there's Greed in Scarlett's DLC, which is amazing.

Aside from this, other pistol types are nothing special, so get a Jacobs for your handgun.

^This. While I disagree with the assertion that pistols aren't useful the tediore grenade pistol can tear through tough enemies easy. Just make sure you get one with decent enough damage.

Yep. Eeeevry once in a while something worth buying comes up in a machine so maybe keep a bit around for that (maybe) but the slots are actually usually your best bet. If nothing else you're effectively guaranteed to get some at-quest-level greens to replace your old stuff. This becomes of paramount importance in TVHM.

Just dump it all in the slots, unless you need it to buy ammo every once in awhile. You'll never win a drat thing (I've put probably a million bucks into the slots and haven't won anything but eridium and garbage weapons) but it beats having it stolen by those annoying rats I guess.

My roomates and I all picked up Borderlands 1 when it came out. While we did enjoy the game for a few days, we all had the same problems that eventually had us quit before finishing it.

#1 Quest tracking was a backtracking nightmare.
#2 Classes/builds hardly seemed to matter, whoever found the best gun was the best in every situation.

Well now we are looking at Borderlands 2. So I'm wondering if there were significant improvents in those 2 areas?

The quests are not as backtracky as they used to be, with a lot more fast travel stations. But there still are a lot of areas you will need to backtrack through, Frostburne Canyon and Lynchwood come to mind. But there is certainly a lot less of that in this one. Or it's nicely masked, with all the entertaining quest dialogues and whatnot.

Classes are a lot more apparent, but it's not about being the best, it's about teamwork and kicking serious butt as a group. There's less weapon specialisation tho, so no more sirens sticking to SMGs and so. That was a pain in the rear end in Borderlands.

If you ever need to get back to the beginning of a zone after a quest, quit and reload. It cuts so much running back time it's not even funny.

I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't use all of their recorded audio for the Torgue vending machines:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_sy4tXtjjY

At least in my game (PS3) I only get the dialogue for when you exit the machine- they recorded it, why not use it? An oversight on Gearbox's part wouldn't surprise me, I guess; they just sorta crank poo poo out and (sometimes) patch it later. I want my drat Cobra, Gearbox :qq:

I kind of didn't take Tediore seriously because their guns were cheaper and didn't have as good base stats like other manufacturers until I figured out you can just peck out 1 round and knock enemies senseless.

I'm wondering if I got a higher than average clip for a Tediore gun with okay damage and put that relic on if that could actually be a playstyle.

For a while with the Gunzerker I was doing this thing where I had one of the Tediore mag size+ relics, a Hoarding Devastator or War Dog class mod (innate mod magazine size increase, bonus to Filled To The Brim), and maxed out Filled To the Brim. Going down the Gunlust tree and getting No Kill Like Overkill, you can get a serious overkill bonus on the first guy you kill in a group and then switch to a high ROF weapon if you're in the thick of things or a sniper rifle if you're not close enough and everything just ends for your enemies. Lose No Kill Like Overkill? Just Mega-Tediore grenade your way back to hilarious damage and repeat. Only problem is running out of ammo, but you do have two good pools (pistol and SMG) and one questionable pool (shotgun) of ammo to use. gently caress, why did I stop doing this?

The generally accepted strategy for hyperius is to get 4 people with tediore relics to throw baby makers with a bee shield on. Shoot once and then reload. When there is over 50 rounds left in the mag, it does about 1 mil per throw.

I found my mongol in the treasure room and its a lot of fun to use. My normal rotation is a maggie, baby maker, CC, and a skullmasher, but I think I am going to switch out the sniper. I have an AR that does 32k base damage and then poops out a grenade when it hits.

I was just playing with some pubs after we beat Pete. One of them poo poo out a bunch of oranges and pinks. Luckily for me I got everything I was looking for with the exception of the infinity pistol, cobra, and norfleet.

The only ones that are worth the crystals are the shooting star and the melee +35% if you're melee Zer0. Shooting star is basically a better bonus package and the melee thing can easily make you do more than a million damage.
