Just received my S3 in the mail today. I'm on the $30 SERO basic plan right now, and I assume I'll have to upgrade to the $50 SERO Premium before calling about activation. The only number I should trust to do that correctly is the SERO number in the OP correct? Then, after my plan is switched, which number should I call for activation with the highest chance of getting fees waived? I missed out on getting them to price match Sam's Club for 99 cents, but I'd at least like to avoid additional fees.

Got my SIII in the mail today, called SERO support, and it took less than 10 minutes to activate the new phone. I was already on SERO Premium with my OG Evo4G, but it was easier than I expected. They never charged me an activation fee. Total price, shipped, was around $56

The people that are activating it would be the same ones to talk about fees but being on sero already I wouldn't get your hopes up.

My contract expires Thursday. Between the cheaper rates offered by T-Mobile's prepaid 4G, and Sprint's lackluster LTE coverage and speeds, I'm ready to say good riddance. Also, the Nexus 4 T-Mobile's customer service is absolutely horrible though. Any chances of getting on SERO when my contract is out? I've been on the Everything Data 450 plan since it was introduced, and I've been with Sprint for 11 years. I'm most likely going to make the jump to T-Mo when Google gets the N4 back in stock, but I figured I'd try asking here first. DanAdamKOF posted:Pleasantly surprised with how much LTE coverage there is in Houston, I had coverage basically from Sugar Land to Webster. Maybe while I was away from Dallas during the break they improved the coverage over there to be as good as Houston's, haha yeah right. LTE started popping up on my phone yesterday (in Plano). Held a LTE signal for most of today, including when I was in far North Dallas and Addison. As per the usual with Sprint, I had to stay near a window if I went indoors. It absolutely raped my battery though. To get it to hold LTE I had to force LTE only though, apparently the Galaxy Nexus radios are programmed to jump back to 3G if the LTE signal is remotely weak. Speed was fair, but nothing compared to what a family member living in the same house gets with T-Mobile's HSPA+: I never saw more than 2 bars on 4G, and the phone would immediately hop back onto the stronger 3G signal if I set it to LTE/CDMA (auto). blargle posted:Is Sprint phasing out wimax already? I'm one of the few people living in a really strong coverage zone outside NYC, but the area seems to be shrinking. From what I understand, Wimax will still be around for another 1-2 years for their prepaid stuff (and MVNOs).

berzerkmonkey posted:How can I possibly use Wi-Fi to pick up a cell signal? The non-data signal is generally a much less energy-demanding one than a data signal, or something along those lines. Basically your phone will stop trying to pick up data from the cell tower if it's getting wifi. You can even set the phone to airplane mode and then enable wifi. You'll have data, but you won't get calls or SMS - though I think GV integration will allow you to receive texts and VM, and of course you can make/receive VOIP calls. That being said, there are apps that will examine detailed battery usage and phone status info for you, often battery drain is caused by an app or service keeping the phone awake with constant activity. If it isn't a signal issue, the next place to look is apps/services. Sprint and Samsung test these special snowflake updates for months before rolling out, and if people were getting hammered with that kind of battery drain on a broad scale, the update would be stopped and a patch issued with all due haste. Not ruling it out completely, but I would put it after signal and apps.

The only people getting SERO any more are people who have it (or EPRP) and are adding a line, which can be SERO. So if you can find someone who has it, and then buy/win a SERO plan off eBay, you can become that person's 2nd line and transfer that SERO plan to your line.

So I just realized I never received a confirmation email after ordering it on Thursday from the website. But the $53.24 was taken out of my account and the upgrade I had available on the phone that I upgraded to the S3 is gone on the date I bought the S3 online... Is there a number I can call to figure out what is going on?

All activated and good to go. Does anyone use Google Voice with the Galaxy S3? I use my Google Voice number as my work number only, everyone else uses my standard cell number. I installed Google Voice on the S3, and now the number is fully integrated, which I don't want. I want to text with my regular cell#, and use the Google Voice app to text work people if needed. I also liked the ability on the Evo to select whether I wanted to dial out using the GV number or Sprint number every time. But I can't seem to find an option to turn it off. I uninstalled GV and re-installed it, and went with the option for "standard setup" instead of "sprint integration", but it does the same thing. Any ideas? *edit* Figured it out, removed the phone from Google Voice then reinstalled. Medullah fucked around with this message at 02:34 on Nov 28, 2012 |

dundun posted:http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Palm-Wh...=item25772565eb That description is really confusing. If it does work, I'd assume that they modified a Note 2 back cover by taking the inductive charging stuff from the back plate of a Pre's Touchstone-compatible cover and affixed it to the Note 2's cover. This would include the correct magnet placement and the other stuff to make it work. However, the description says that it's the original Palm back cover, so how can it be the original if it's been modified to work for the Note 2? It seems like a nice wireless charging solution if it actually does work, though. And I can't think of a reason that it wouldn't work on a Sprint Note 2 if it works on other Note 2s. e: and I just noticed that the main picture for the item says "plam Touchstone"

I just noticed something really horrible... for my ISP. I have 10/1 through Time Warner. Speedtest.net shows I'm only getting about 2 down/1 up while tethered to my Sprint handset (over LTE). Yet web pages load far faster and I'm not getting any timeouts. Krime, DFW is saturated with Wimax, yet it was one of Sprint's LTE launch markets (... and still isn't half done even several months after their projected 100% completion date). I just started seeing regular LTE coverage instead of completely random "why am I getting 4G in the ghetto?" sightings - I've had a solid 4G signal most of the day except while I was at school (large community college). Give it about 2-3 years
