Time for babbys first street shots! Critique is welcome as this is the first time I've ever used anything other than a point 'n shoot. Taken on a Pentax ME Super with Tri-X at 400:

There was a Japan festival in my city the other day, went with a film point and shoot, some expired Centuria 100 and a roll of Provia 100, the Provia was my first time shooting slide film, there weren't many keepers and the saturation looked funky, I'm not sure what I screwed up. Love the Centuria though.

Found this in a box containing rolls from the fifties on. The pic is dated 1966.
I'm pretty sure the author (uknown, but from the family) wasn't a street photographer but drat it if this isn't a great street pic of Italy during the economic boom.

Love the "yuppy" couples and the family scene in the lower left. Reeks of early 20th century working class.

I think your cameras AF is busted on the latter half of the images you posted, or you took a really boring lovely street photo and tried to pull something of interest out of a crop. :snoop:

What more can be said about bad images other than they are just bad? You want an break down of each?

At the end of the day if you are happy with your images thats great and all, but you gotta see past your own ego here. They are just straight up boring for the most part paired with bad focus.

Of all the ones you posted the Junkie stands out as the most interesting. The one you got caught taking the picture. Its the only good one in the bunch as far as my taste goes.

Street photos are not just supposed to be "look im on a street taking pictures... how cool is this poo poo!!!" which is how these feel other than the Junkie photo.

The other 2 images you posted in a seperate post are miles better.

It's not bad. Maybe a little slower than the 50 f/1.4. For me, I'm planning on using it for a carry around lens, so focus speed isn't too big of a deal to me.

SilverEFX is great, I started using it on my Fuji X-PRO 1 and I've never felt better about the "street" look I'm getting on all of my new images.

Agreed as long as you use the presets as a 'starting point'. I typically use a couple of them and tweak as needed. It also helps to do all the exposure work in lightroom/photoshop before you throw it into silverefx.
