Sweet zombie Jesus, I just found this podcast in my search for new spoken word listening material. Just started listening and I'm going to have to acquire the full UYD mega-archive. Thanks for just killing my next few months of audio book reading time during my commute.

What a great episode. Seth's random burn on Cloud Atlas floored me.

Hey cervixalot, I found another song for your playlist: the intro song for this UYD animation is Helicon 2 (Max Tundra Remix) by Mogwai, which was the intro for episode 129 but I don't see on the Grooveshark playlist. It's in Grooveshark's database though, I just don't know how to add it. E: A couple more in the description of this video- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMY6ZyM5cMc C-Euro fucked around with this message at 05:41 on Dec 4, 2012 |

My suckbuddy who does a podcast with me is out of town, and I have an extra smoothie. Who wants to help me drink it up? Wink wink. Huge cock for a thick smile. No gay poo poo.

You should think about making up a google doc or something with what's still unknown. I'm not saying I'd be much help, personally, but someone with a little musical knowledge might be.

I'm down for trying to compile a Spotify playlist from a list. The one I got from the wiki is woefully inadequate. Edit: Here it is, couldn't find a few songs that were on Grooveshark - spotify:user:fallom:playlist:3aeDL2ukrzl7eDFN7z8o5l It's set to collaborative. Listening in the 80's right now. It's pretty neat to see the subtle ways the show has changed over the years. One thing I do miss is how they used to interact with the listeners a lot more, mentioning voicemails, etc. In episdoe 83, they read an email somebody sent who was making fun of their guessing game they do where Seth lists three things, one of which in made up. It was very funny just hearing them react to listener feedback. I love the show as it is now, but sometimes I wish they did some more of what they used to do.

Fergus Mac Roich posted:They also played a voicemail from casual fan Ricky "loving" Gervais. Wait, Ricky really did that? I'm just getting into UYD. Listening from ep1, liking it a lot so far. But my all time favorite radio show/podcast is Ricky's trio and to know that he has listened before is pretty cool. Liking UYD a lot so far, especially much so since I live in Los Angeles so I get pretty much every single local reference. It's pretty cool hearing them talk about places I've been or eaten or whatever, I mean it's no big deal but it makes me connect with them a bit more easily. Also, I went to school in Boston for 4 years so I get the Massachusetts references from Seth as well. I'm tied in man. J can be funny, but so far I just listen to hear Seth freak out about stuff and generally be a crotchety old-timer. I love this bit about New York "Hey new york, I have a car. When I want to go somewhere I get in my car, drive there, do said thing then I get in my car, go home and watch TV . What do YOU do? Oh I take the A train then switch off at this station. Oh I bike to work. Hey new york, do you use chop sticks instead of forks? Why don't you move out to LA where we have forks and cars instead of chop sticks and bikes?" I love the "hey x" from Seth so much. I also love how every goddamn thing he says about himself is a lie. The dude is on point with his shtick every second. It's pretty awesome. He almost never even laughs (so far). If I sound like I'm already talking in UYD parlance it's only because I'm born and raised in LA. Yes we really do speak like that here. edit: VVV That is pretty awesome Rick listened and called in early in the shows life. By then Rick pretty much already had the biggest downloaded podcast of all time, so It's kind of like the Beatles calling you and congratulating you on your first hit single. OK, not crazy as that but you get my analogy. They were right to freak out about his voice mail and wonder why no one else cared. Damo fucked around with this message at 08:58 on Dec 7, 2012 |

When I was listening to the backlog hearing that voicemail was so loving surreal I thought it was fake. It did not even occur to me that it was real until I heard the next episode with Seth being mad about the lack of excitement over it. If I had a comedy podcast and Ricky Gervais called in to congratulate me on it I would freak the gently caress out.

I wish I could be more specific, but I know it is definitely between eps. ~15-20. Likely more toward twenty, so start scanning from ep 20 and back maybe. I'm on episode 22 so there is no way it is from after that point.

Because it tickled me so much when I heard it and I'm a dork with too much time on his hands I made an iPhone ringtone out of the UYD rendition of the Mario theme in episode 14. Enjoy, I guess?

Yeah the hunting bit is real funny, and it's a good example of the stuff that Jonathan does I find funny. "gently caress face's hunting. gently caress gently caress hunting gently caress rear end in a top hat." Basically when he gets disgusted and devolves into saying gently caress 90% of the time it cracks me up.
