I'm happy Almond got to deal the killing blow, I feel like she really needed that as a character. There's usually this invisible joke zone that media allows female fighters to be competent in before the men have to step in and despite all evidence to the contrary I was still worried that somehow her attack would do nothing and Carrot had to finish Splashmaster off or some dumb poo poo like that.

E: On the other hand, she should have fed Carrot that kill, since he could really need the experience.

Apparently she can just slice Splashmaster in a Disaster Stone.

I'm guessing that the Dream Oracle will assume that Cucumber finished off Splashmaster and refuse to believe any testimony to the contrary.

She's certainly a part of the "accepted" program, with her role in sending the Hero on a quest every time. You'd think if she really cared about stopping Nightmare Knight, after thousands of years she'd have figured out a way to do it for good.

According to the site, Chapter 1 began on January 31. Also keep in mind we've been on highly accelerated release schedule lately thanks to the kickstarter.

I can't wait to see more of Dreamside. I wonder if Nautilus is going to tag along?

I like how Nautilus in the first panel is all fangirling about the Oracle showing up.

Also when Cucumber Quest finishes, if nobody makes a fan video game version of the comic story I will be shocked and appalled.

We'd been aware that there were seven Disaster Masters plus the Nightmare Knight (and the corresponding seven plus one Disaster Stones) for a while. There's on Disaster Master for each of the seven kingdoms.

Considering the influences, I'd say so. One partner per area and all that, right?

By the way, it's:

Doughnut Kingdom (Normal ears)
Ripple Kingdom (Bending-outward ears)
Melody Kingdom (Folded ears)
Flower Kingdom (Sprouty earts)
Crystal Kingdom (Rectangular ears)
Sky Kingdom (Curled ears)
Space Kingdom (Wide ears with inner symbol)

and Cordelia is not from Dreamside, because she has cat ears.

We've now only taken care of Ripple Kingdom, sort of. In RPG style, we'll be returning to Doughnut Kingdom almost invariably.

I doubt it. One partner = one area works in games because they can stop mattering after their plot arc is complete and just serve as a battle option. I can't really see a webcomic giving a decent amount of time to ten different "party members" by the end.

I think it's more like that either Nautilus stays behind or the group settles in at 5-6 permanent members.

Even Almond calls bullshit on this one. I think it makes sense for her to not be thrilled. I mean she's not really a big goddamn hero anymore if she's just the 100th chump to do the job, and only do a patch job at that.

Also, apparently we have an interlude coming up, then more reader questions. Sounds good to me!
