I thought of Jonathan reading the lyrics to LFO - Summer Girls. He's right, half of the lyrics are straight forward boyband pop, and half are next level poo poo. Who knew?

(also, the lead singer of LFO is dead: leukemia and a stroke. thanks, Jeezo)

i think it's ep 76. The wiki says it's at 40:30. Jonathan just cracks up at a couple parts ("Michael J. Fox was Alex P. Keaton")

I've decided to take the plunge and listen to the entire UYD backlog, wish me luck.
Someone was asking about it and while I can't find their original post, I just heard the story about the Asian orphan phone store guy  :smith: It's in episode 12, about halfway through.

It does a good job of filling the time when I've listened to all of the current podcasts. It also helps if you can't be alone with your own thoughts.

re: that Seth freakout video, the only time I think I've heard Seth legit mad was at the very end of an episode I think in the mid 90s or early 100s where he mentioned a TCAP dude who wanted to gently caress a 13 year old but justified it in his mind because "don't worry, we're going to get married!". Seth was on point ranting about this dude for like 2 straight minutes and it was amazing. Wish I could find it again :(

The violent young pony.
I love this pod, my MO has been to listen to the backlog of whatever month I was in (like dec 06-12) but I just decided to say gently caress it and start from 1. This is the best podcast and anyone who doesn't like it is dead inside.

I remember there was a episode where Seth and Jonathan got in a legit fight about something dumb like if it was harder to have a kid or raise a kid. It seemed pretty heated.

Everyone knows about that episode, they later found out the heating was broken and they had been recording in a gas chamber so they weren't in their right minds. Also they could died.

To be fair to Seth, I felt like he was just trying to get his point across and to also calm Jonathan down. Jonathan was loving furious, but Seth knows in his heart what he believes so he stayed cool throughout the argument. That's what I got out of it.

That Jonathan got so riled up about it said to me he has to know what he's saying is bullshit on some level.

With their dynamic and the way Seth plays up his neuroses you'd think it'd be Seth needing to be calmed down if things ever got ugly :)

Jonathan is a big baby who throws hissy fits when he doesn't get his way. My favourite poem was the one about how his dad was mean to him and how he was never going to talk to him ever again, and that one day big John would be dead.

If anyone else here wrote poetry as a teenager, you know how awesome/painful it is to share that poo poo (I mean, poo poo) with anyone.

Just a reminder, I made a Spotify playlist with 190 tracks taken from the Grooveshark list: spotify:user:fallom:playlist:3aeDL2ukrzl7eDFN7z8o5l

It's kind of a pain in the rear end to update it based on additions to the Grooveshark one since it doesn't sort by date, so any help would be appreciated.

The carbon monoxide leak always felt like a hollow excuse for some pretty real emotions at the time. Friends fight every now and then, there doesn't have to be a greater explanation for it.

If anyone's dipping back into the archives:

Thursday night is no-screen night in my house, so we listened to ep 243. What a doozy. I have feeling because it was my first but oh man. It's the Seth the Jet ep. And they get into a huge carbon monoxide leak-esque discussion about marriage and love. I recommend.
