It is amazing how much I hate 4.2 on my Nexus 7 but how great it is on my Gnex. I wish it was a lot more like the phone version for the tablet. Ugh.

Have you tried resetting the keyboard's pairing memory? There's usually a simple key combo to hold on boot (example: On + N+E+W). Clears out the internal keyboard memory to factory new. That's what worked for me after updating to 4.2.1 and losing connectivity with my particular keyboard. Didn't have any need for the Bluetooth keyboard during 4.2 so can't promise anything.

If it's going by wifi then it could be a bit off. Instructions from a Google search: Start Maps Tap on your icon (The blue dot on the map, this should have your contact photo on it not just the blue arrow. You can pull it up by turning on the Latitude option.) Tap on your name that appears above it Tap location History Tap the menu dots down the bottom right The you get the Change home/work location options

4.1 on the S3 is incredibly annoying. If your phone locks itself when you're in the keypad then it glitches out when you try and use your phone again.

Can anyone recommend a comic reader (.cbr) that has a nice big widget (or any widget at all)? I'm giving someone a Nexus 7 for Christmas and the first thing I want them to see when they turn it on is the comic I got them on the home screen.

The complaints basically fall into two categories: 1) People who did an OTA update and have been experiencing severe stability issues. These seem to be mostly cleared up with a factory reset. 2) People who have problems with the changed aesthetics of 4.2.

Komik Reader promises to have a widget soon, but I doubt that will be today. If you're feeling ambitious you can make a UCCW widget with the comic's cover as the background and hot link it to the reader.

So, what's good for news apps? I'd like something that aggregates blogs and conventional news sources, in some nice pretty format that somehow lets me read whatever I want to. I guess I'm not sure what the ideal would be, but Currents isn't really doing it for me. What are you folks using for newsreading?

So last night while browsing (using Chrome) my Nexus 10 froze. This happens about once a day which isn't too much of a problem as the reboot doesn't even take half a minute. However, it starting buzzing quite loud from the left side and got warm pretty much immediately on the spot the sound came from. Anyone ever experienced something like that? Seems like I'll have to exchange again. I really like this thing but the unnecessary battery drain and things like this make it hard to hold on

Just got a Nexus 7 for Christmas and I'm super stoked for it. Only used it for about 20 minutes but its super smooth (came with 4.1), just as smooth an experience as my iPhone. Way better than my old Droid X. I know Google had the whole Butter thing to make the experience smoother, but how far has Android come besides that?

I started using Serviio recently which, other than having a stupid name, is way better than TVersity in all respects.

Ok I got my wife a Nexus 7 for Christmas. She plugged it in, charged it for an hour, then turned it on and did the basic google setup to get all of her info an apps from her phone. The minute she unplugged it in order to move it to a different outlet, it powered down as if it had never been plugged in at all. Now when I plug it in and try to charge it, the screen backlights, and the screen looks like a snow flurry with white flecks flicking all over the place. Either that, or the backlight comes on and the screen just stays black. Won't power on no matter how long I hold the power button, or if I try to hold down the power button and the volume buttons. I've googled my rear end off since last night trying to fix it, but so far all the solutions I've found were based on being able to get the thing to eventually turn on or respond at all. Called google, and after holding the power button for 30 seconds, was told there was nothing else they could do since the rest of their solutions involved it being powered on, and to just take it back to where I bought it. So I'm begging you goons, is there a way to fix this drat thing, or am I going to have to tell my wife that I got her a defective nexus and we have to wait for Radioshack to replace it?

I finally got my hands on a Nexus 10, a nearby Walmart has one in stock, I got it on the 23rd, at about 11pm. The electronics section looked like a warzone. All the demo tablets were locked up, the guy there said they were all broken by customers, and they had only one 10 left, the guy said they had been selling well. So I love it, I finally found a tablet that I'm going to keep. The screen is fantastic, the device feels solid, and runs perfectly. I love the feel to it, it's got a nice grip to it. I primary use my tablet to read and look at PDF, and I've always felt that there were no good iBooks alternatives on Android, but I downloaded Mantano Reader, and it's perfect. It blows Aldiko or Moon+ reader away. It's $7, but it's totally worth it. It's super quick, has page turning animations, highlighting and notations (and they don't make the app crawl when you have a ton of annotations in the document like other readers). And it has a great cloud syncing options.

Now that a bunch of people have had them for a month, is Chrome really as janky on the Nexus 10 as it looks in that Verge review video? My wife is running a 1st-gen iPad and I'm tempted to give her my The Old The New iPad and get a Nexus 10. But I don't really use tablet apps outside of email/calendar, and mainly use the browser, so a janky browser is kind of a dealbreaker.

In that video, they are viewing the Verge website, which is weird on all sorts of devices, laptops, and tablets. It runs fine on my Nexus 10, but everything else I have it's really rough. My wife's iPhone runs it fine, but her iPad2 and Macbook stutter on it.
