It was really a good series, though seeing Chris O'Dowd playing a serious character took some brain-calibrating to deal with.

I don't think I've ever watched the Queen's speech. It's just a close up of her, talking about putting aside barriers and working together for the good of the nation or something, for about 10 minutes?

I thought the big fat quiz was the funniest it's been in ages. I even though James Corden was funny in it, which must be a sign of the Mayans being right about something or other.

I just got round to watching the Big Fat Quiz and some of it was pretty cringy. Ayoade actually just looked embarassed to be there for large parts of it. That said, the Mail is being its usual self in that article. And I actually found Whitehall and Corden much funnier after they got drunk, which says something (this coming from someone who actually likes Whitehall).

Brooker just doesn't work in a panel show format. He's not pushy enough to talk over the others so he ends up saying nothing.

Yeah, Brooker hasn't been good on any panel show he's been on. I remember when he got announced for the Big Fat Quiz and everyone jizzed themselves, but he hardly contributed. Going to watch this year's in a bit. Normally, I'd be all 'gently caress Jack Whitehall' but, and I can't believe I'm saying this, he's actually grown on me slightly over the last year or so. Thanks for the headsup over 2012 Wipe - I knew there was one coming up, but had forgotten. I also really enjoy World's Strongest Man. I didn't mind Ripper Street - for a first episode, it wasn't terrible.
