Okay, this is great. DR1 took a while for the characters to really start grooving with each other, but this took off pretty much as soon as everyone got back together  So I can't help but notice that the student group just got split up. Unless I'm misreading the update, slightly under half (noticeably including most of the rear end in a top hat characters) are now hanging out with Monobear and half are still with Usami at the beach. I wonder if this is foreshadowing a Team Hope vs. Team Despair split like some people were speculating.

Hm. I wonder if Usami's reaction is just part of the whole plan or if she really is genuine. I'd bee assuming that this whole thing was just an elaborate set up by Monobear, but now it's seeming a bit like the island was really intended to be peaceful by whoever is behind Usami. Which is weird because what purpose could that possibly serve? Also, we discussed the poem earlier, but since the whole island is named after it and not just the park, I'm thiking it may be important. Wow, that one update really fleshed a lot of the characters out. I especially like Chef guy's developments, but Kaz and Ibuki were cool too. Does Gymnast say anything special about not swimming? It seems weird that the person who tried to before didn't bother going when she had the chance.

How the hell did Togami beat us to the beach? Chiaki's really... something else. At first Bobby-Hill-with-a-jumbo-shrimp-on-his-head creeped me out, but now he's growing on me. Partly because I have a feeling that fake, computer-generated despair isn't exactly what Monobear is after, partly because it just feels cheap to say "oh yeah everything was fake the whole time", partly because I'm a chump who tends to take things at face value. It's quite possible that they chose "Jabberwock" just because it sounds cool. I find Crepuscule's artificial environment idea much more likely. I was half expecting Togami to say "Didn't any of you notice there are ceiling lights in the sky?"

Does anyone else think it's ironic how the moment Hinata decides to go with this whole thing and stop being so suspicious that suddenly Monobear shows up and decides to ruin everything?

Gotta admit, I was expecting some kind of retribution when everyone threw away the Usami dolls. I almost thought Monobear wouldn't be involved at all, and she would serve as a different kind of horrifying mastermind. Guess I was wrong, though.
