When something on my queue expires and comes back, does it get readded to my queue?

Some stuff that's expiring on the 1st if anyone wants to have a movie marathon for the next 24 hours: Braveheart Last Tango in Paris Parents Fahrenheit 451 A Shot In The Dark Creature From the Black Lagoon Superfly The Intruder The Taking of Pelham 123 Red Dawn Great Expectations The Fifth Element Starship Troopers Broadway Danny Rose Dial M For Murder Amadeus Snake Eyes Margot at the Wedding Casino Royale (1967) TNT Jackson Unfortunately this is all stuff in my instant queue that, with the exception of Braveheart, I haven't gotten the chance to watch yet. Hopefully some of it makes a quick turn around and comes back.

Joe Don Baker posted:Oh maybe they changed it. I haven't messed with my queue in a long time. From what I can tell they got rid of the section at the bottom but it still seems to remember if a movie was in your instant queue and will add it back if the movie comes back. The saved list at the bottom was a problem because it counted towards your total and at the time that put me over the 500 limit, so I had to start cutting it down.

It has horrible use of gamer/l33tspeak and I think runs way too long for it's own good.

Along with the titles already mentioned, looks like a lot of the Corman titles are going away so if you haven't seen the greatness that is Starcrash, watch it now.

Silent House was a good idea that was mostly poorly executed. Apparently the whole movie was done in about 10 shots. It would be cool if I was able to see anything. They never show the interior of the house with the lights on so in most scenes it's very difficult to determine were the protagonist is located. I can only surmise that she was either upstairs, downstairs, in the basement, or outside. What little "story" there was is poorly done, and the twist was super obvious to everyone I was watching it with within the first 30 minutes. That being said, I think two scenes were well done and actually managed to spook me. The first being the scene when the protagonists uncle goes into the house to find her father. I knew someone was going to appear in the back, but they did a good job building the tension I thought. I also really liked the camera scene later in the film. Again, it was obvious what was going to happen but it was an original idea in a film that seemed devoid of those.

shut up netface posted:Despite its three star rating I thought Four Rooms was pretty fantastic. Especially the Robert Roduigez segment "The Misbehavers" which turned into an adult version of Looney Toons. Four out of five. Good times. Four Rooms is infinitely better if you skip straight to The Misbehavers/The Man from Hollywood. The first two segments are godawful and you don't miss anything as long as you assume Ted had a long night (and that he's telling the truth on the phone) + know Angela Jones was the person tied up in the second story. I've suggested watching it this way to multiple friends, and both people who ended up watching the full movie agreed afterwards. E: A 3/5 star rating sounds about right, I'd seriously give the individual segments like a 1/1/5/5.

The first one was boring and pointless, the second was actually kind of funny (if a little disjointed and "odd"), then The Misbehavers just killed it and The Man From Hollywood kept up the quality set by the previous. You could just come in at the second segment, which is weaker than the last two but not as completely awkward and awful as the first. If you skip the second segment, you also miss Angela's first appearance and the start of the recurring gag of the mixed-up room numbers. The first segment has absolutely no relation to the any of the others, apart from being mentioned during the phone conversation. Take it out and you miss nothing.

I haven't seen Four Room in years, but I've always loved it, Tim Roth is fantastic. Though I suppose it is kind of damning I don't even remember what the first two rooms were about (one had Madonna and some witches right?) But yeah, the last two segments are hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAKPzL6uNOg I would imagine. wyoming fucked around with this message at 19:31 on Jan 1, 2013 |

I watched Kagemusha tonight. It's an Akira Kurosawa film, and it was produced in part by Francis Ford Copala and George Lucas. Basically, what happened was that Kurosawa wanted to make this film, but Toho, his Japanese film company, couldn't afford to make the movie. So George Lucas went to Fox and said "Yo, remember Star Wars? Well, you guys can repay me by paying for this guy's film." It's about this Japanese warlord Shigen. His brother, who serves as a double for him, finds this criminal who is about to be crucified and realizes that he bears an incredibly close likeness to Shigen, making him a valuable tool to use. Shigen's forces are currently trying to unite Japan, and they have just laid siege to this castle, and manage to cut off their water supply. The real Shigen hears that there's this man inside the castle who plays the flute every night, so he wants to hear it for himself. That night, when the guy is playing the flute, he gets shot by a sniper. Back at his castle, he collects his warlords, and he tells them that if he should die, that they should keep it a secret for 3 years and to stop their advance to Kyoto. Well, naturally, the bastard ends up dying. So, his brother unveils the criminal, and says that this guy can serve as a double for those 3 years. Well, later that evening, the criminal decides he's going to rob them, and he breaks into this large jar that he thinks is filled with treasure. However, he discovers Shigen's body is in there. Shigen's men decide to let the criminal leave and be free. The next morning, they plan on burying Shigen in a lake, and they'll end up telling everyone. Meanwhile, Shigen's enemies, including Nobunaga, hear rumors that he's dead, and they want to find out for themselves. The thief is watching the burial, and he stumbles upon three spies who are watching the ceremony, so he begs to serve as Shigen's double. Of course, Shigen has a son, and he's not at all pleased about this. So, he's trying to undermine the look-alike and expose him, as well as trying to get a little glory for himself. You should watch the film. However, I would not recommend watching it on Netflix. There are two versions of the film: the American and Japanese version. The American version is missing 20 minutes. Also, the version on Netflix looks terrible, and there's a lot of really bad digital artifacts. You really should watch it, but I guess the Criterion collection is the way to go on this one.

Wilhelm Scream posted:V/H/S, one of the best Horror movies from last year, is now streaming! Its not for everyone. I thought it was one of the worst films I have seen last year. But each his own. It is a found footage film that tells several stories. Many of which are filled with shallow unlikable people who encounter "bad things". Its currently 50% on rotten tomatoes and I that seems fair as its a polarizing film.

Human Centipedes, Saws, Friday the 13ths, are not for me. Shining, [REC], [REC2] and even Slither are. This isn't about me however this is about Netflix Streaming. On that topic I just rewatched "Dreamscape" since my childhood. I don't care what the cool kids say, Dennis Quaid is more then a poor mans Harrison Ford. This movie pits him vs Plummer and its a old fashioned "slick off". Decent special effects for its time too. Thanks for the childhood nightmares snakeman!
