If you watch his wheels, after he gets it straight he cranks the steering over to the right and spins it. It's only after that where he slams the brakes and goes off. But yeah, he had it then blew it for no reason.

Where does all that paint on the pavement come from? Do they just let people put graffiti all over it? Judging by my own experience, there's approximately fuckall traction to be had on painted pavement. A tight bend like that would be a kinda cool place to have decent traction, if you ask me...

Cheap spraypaint on a somewhat porous tar surface is nowhere near as slick as a nice thick layer of alkyd paint.

Also depends on bullet and firearm.

Long (45min) documentary about Gulf Arabs driving fancy cars in London. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHcPevHHupE I never thought it would be possible but somehow this made me hate Britain and sympathize with Arabs in Lamborghinis. I'm not sure if it's just my expectations but those Arabs all seem like surprisingly nice, personable folks. Throatwarbler fucked around with this message at 03:30 on Jan 6, 2013 |

The bit where the guy's car gets impounded because the cop couldn't figure out his insurance papers kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Yeah the guy's kind of an idiot for driving without a front plate or whatever he got pulled over for initially but really, towing and impounding the car just because you can't figure out his insurance that turned out to be fine? That just seems like harrassment motivated by xenophobia. I use to live/go to school in that particular part of London( I was at an advanced age before I realized that Rolls Royces and Porsches are actually uncommon cars everywhere else) and the people there really are douchebags, especially as a non-white. Those Arabs and their Ferraris would probably be an improvement.

To be fair, that's some pretty dangerous street racing they are doing, if they want to hoon their cars they could easily afford to rent a track. Take all your cars to the 'ring for christ's sake and race them all you want, I don't get why they need to gently caress off in down town London.

I'd say, I'd be upset about the reckless driving. I wouldn't want to worry about getting hit by some boy who got it wrong. The noise is a legal issue. They either meet the legal EU sound limits or not. If that's not good enough for the residents, petition to change the law. I do think you hit the nail on the head about the "wrong type of people" statement. "The policeman said, 'I quite like the cultural diversity'. I said, 'you may like it.' I said, 'you don't live here, well we're fed up. You know all the shisha pipes or whatever they're called.'" Throatwarbler posted:Yeah the guy's kind of an idiot for driving without a front plate or whatever he got pulled over for initially He had a front plate, he was pulled over because the cop thought he may not be insured. The documentary may have been shot in a way that doesn't cast the residents of Knightsbridge in a particularly good light. But still, they really are abhorrent and arrogant examples of 'old money' attitudes. If the cars meet noise regulations (and I know the UK and EU disagree on a LOT of things) and have plates and valid insurance, I fail to see the inherent problem. I that case, the only problem may be reckless driving, which should be dealt with in the normal manner, ie. tickets, suspension of licenses and impounding of the vehicles involved, depending on the severity. There is also the issue of the Arab kids doing this to escape the restrictions of Middle Eastern culture, which forbids them from partying etc., and then you get attitudes like "if it's not with an Arab woman, it doesn't count". For instance, the two biggest prostitute customer groups in western Europe are tradesmen and young Arabs, simply because "it doesn't count". It's testament to a horribly regressive culture that really impedes on peoples freedom. Massively and oppressively so in the case of women, let's not forget that. But it also does this to a degree in the case of young men, leading to pent up frustration and wild outbursts of either partying or aggression. They need to let off steam, but are not allowed to do so. At some point, the pressure becomes too much.
