Is there an android music player which I can control from my PC? A lot of apps exist that work the other way round. I like to sit on my laptop and have my phone plugged into my music system, but hate having to get up to change the song every time.

The way they handle updates is pretty awesome, Basically you subscribe, tell it how many episodes you want to keep on hand, tell it to update while you sleep and you're done

Hmm, I'm not sure when they slipped it in, but I'm noticing that if I clear G+ notifications on the desktop, they are clearing on my phone as well. That's certainly new (and welcomed) behavior.

Can someone recommend an app for sending texts? I was using GO SMS Pro but I think things are starting to get funky-text messages being unsent, etc.

Texting is sent over the cellular network only. Well except a few carriers worldwide, but you probably aren't on one of them.

Biggie Shorty posted:I switched from the stock app because it wasn't timestamping my messages. The only reason why it might go through on GoSMS Pro when you don't have a signal is because it's being routed through a remote server in China as a "feature". I think somewhere in the options you can disable that, it's call Go Texting or Go Cloud Texting or some such. Try using ChompSMS instead? But yeah, generally speaking you need a cell signal to send texts.

I'm going to be exchanging my GS3 since there's this flickering issue whenever I type on the keyboard and I think it's hardware related. Im within the 14 day period so i hope its painless and fast. Anyways, I already bought about worth of apps. Will I have to repurchase them for when I get a new GS3 phone, even if i'm using the same google account?

Ironically the free apps don't get remembered (or didn't last time I switched phones) so you'll have to work to get all those back. Might be worth getting some screen shots or emailing yourself links to ones you will want again.

It had all the free apps I have essentially ever had so there was quite a bit of filtering and scrolling but better than having to write down what I had on my old phone and then searching.

Google still has a long way to go when it comes to managing apps on the Play website. It's a hell of a lot better than it used to be, but would it kill them to have a way to select multiple to queue install?

I cannot seem to find a way to use the talk app with anything other than the main account the phone was setup in, and all I can find is some shady rear end looking apps in a brief search around on google. Are there any apps that are decent that can handle multiple google accounts and the chat stuff tied them?

Doctor rear end in a top hat posted:I've only got one account, but it looks like you can switch by hitting the dropdown with your account name on it. Also, if you use the "up" button, you can get to the accounts screen and probably switch from there. I've come to understand that only past certain versions this works. It certainly doesn't on my droid x. There isn't a dropdown menu like the gmail app has.

I have a dropdown, but if I keep hitting the Talk icon I get back to the accounts screen, where I can set my status(es) and add accounts with a button at the top. Do you at least have that screen? And I don't really know how this works with non-stock, can't you upgrade the basic Google apps through the play store? Or is it only certain ones that allow it?
