It wasn't even a VR helmet, the 'player' couldn't see a darn thing, they had to rely on their teammates to direct them. Which they were always notoriously bad at.

It was best when the team gave instructions along the lines of "sidestep left" and the muppet in the hat did the exact opposite and their life force turned into a skull straight away because they walked into a table or something. I do agree that it was horribly frustrating to watch but at the same time I couldn't stop!

I think Mister Snips doesn't realise that trance is one of the most popular types of music in the world at the moment (and hardstyle and eurodance still have massive followings in certain parts of the world).

 This was basically my bible in high school. Drugs, Wetware, Meatspace, hacking, phreaking, body modifications - oh my! Always had it lying on my nightstand, as a go-to encyclopedia for all things cyber & alternative. Wonder what happened to RU Sirius. I believe Mondo went belly up before the end of the century? Only bought one issue of the magazine, it never clicked as much as the User's Guide did.

Pretty sure one was based on or at least inspired by the other, but I forgot which one. I'm guessing Beakman got it from Forrester because I'm pretty sure MST3k came first. Bill Nye was better anyway

The best moment in this show hands down was when the actress who played the girl decided to leave. They got a replacement, but it would've been weird to just replace one of the three main characters fairly early in the show, and it would've been weirder to suddenly have a new actress playing the character. So instead, they: A.) Had a spell go wrong and randomly change her appearance (into the new actress) and B.) Used another spell to make it so everyone remembered her as looking this way. Just...just brilliant. edit: and then when they had the Power Rangers "Forever Red" special, which was a huge nostalgia fest where they got every single red ranger together, they kinda ran out of costumes for the bad guys, so they just wound up using the old Beetleborg costumes. If you were a Canadian kid watching tv in the 90s you will be remember seeing the "Cool Rock" CD commercial all. the. time. It's so burned in my brain now that any time I hear the song snippets on the radio or in a store I immediately think of the next songs from the commercial. http://youtu.be/4oJ8SioFmqY I could only find the long version in French, but it is essentially the same. This game: It's about Jordan entering the very bowels of Chicago to save his basketball team from a Mad Scientist who has kidnapped them for some reason. He also has all the powers of the elements(and lasers) at his disposal because he's Michael Jordan and will preform rim shattering dunks at will. Every check point he preforms a dunk, every bonus item he dunks, every secret thing ever he will leap across the screen and preform an in your face dunk. It's an actual decent platformer and is more in line with the Michael jackson game, Moonwalker. However it has Metroid style powerups and things, it's also just really really weird. The game's point of view is that Jordan is just amazing in every way and you're a fool to not see it. So I found this magical thing today in a box of old CDs. Which is exciting.  Itunes/the back of the CD tells me it's from 1997. No idea where/why I got this, although the dog's collar suggests Toys R Us might have something to do with it. I'm almost positive I didn't buy it, but I was a dumb 8 year old so I can't be sure. I might post a trip report later because I have a feeling this is going to be good. I also found an errant Pure Moods CD and imported it. Not too shabby. God I love me some 90s New Age music.
