I submit for everyone's enjoyment, Knightmare. Using the absolute best in computer technology of the day, the players had to navigate a castle, avoiding various Indiana Jones-esque traps and bizarre puzzles, while wearing a giant helmet.

It wasn't even a VR helmet, the 'player' couldn't see a darn thing, they had to rely on their teammates to direct them. Which they were always notoriously bad at.

It was best when the team gave instructions along the lines of "sidestep left" and the muppet in the hat did the exact opposite and their life force turned into a skull straight away because they walked into a table or something. I do agree that it was horribly frustrating to watch but at the same time I couldn't stop!

Were you in the synchtube earlier? Because a few people from Punchsport Pagoda were watching this earlier.

It is the single most 90s thing I've ever seen.

Absolutely, this series was a great way to knock out some Accelerated Reader quizzes quickly.

Our middle school kept a point system based on book length and difficulty. Earn enough points via Accelerated Reader quizzes, get a reward. Naturally, these books weren't worth that much but there were enough in the series at the time to knock out 30 points easy.

I heard they filmed multiple episodes in a day. Meanwhile, contestants for later episodes stayed in a waiting room all day without food, water, or any mentally stimulating activity. I don't know if it was really that harsh, but it would explain a lot about how kids could be so dumb on that show.

I bought it recently on Ebay, for ten bucks or something. It's worth it for the cover alone. Also, Secret Service raid.

Wikipedia posted:

GURPS Cyberpunk received notoriety when the Austin headquarters of Steve Jackson Games was raided by the U.S. Secret Service in 1990. The authorities seized the manuscript for the sourcebook, which was under development at the time, asserting that it was a "handbook for computer crime". The book was reconstructed and rewritten from older drafts when the manuscript was not returned. The seizure delayed publication for six weeks.[1] This raid is often wrongly attributed to Operation Sundevil, a nation-wide crackdown on illegal computer hacking activities that was occurring about this time.

I loved Beakman's World. Lester was the best sidekick because he was a guy in a rat suit. By which I mean that even in the context of the show, he was just a guy who, for whatever reason, was always wearing a rat suit.

quote:

In the pilot episode, Lester was a puppet, but in every subsequent episode he was simply a clueless, crude man (Mark Ritts) in a tattered rat suit. In a running joke, it was never asserted that his character was actually supposed to be a rat; rather he was specifically identified by himself and others as a guy in a rat suit

The best moment in this show hands down was when the actress who played the girl decided to leave. They got a replacement, but it would've been weird to just replace one of the three main characters fairly early in the show, and it would've been weirder to suddenly have a new actress playing the character.

So instead, they:

A.) Had a spell go wrong and randomly change her appearance (into the new actress) and
B.) Used another spell to make it so everyone remembered her as looking this way.

Just...just brilliant.

edit:

and then when they had the Power Rangers "Forever Red" special, which was a huge nostalgia fest where they got every single red ranger together, they kinda ran out of costumes for the bad guys, so they just wound up using the old Beetleborg costumes. Which is kinda hilarious considering I vaguely remember them having a crossover.

This game:

It's about Jordan entering the very bowels of Chicago to save his basketball team from a Mad Scientist who has kidnapped them for some reason. He also has all the powers of the elements(and lasers) at his disposal because he's Michael Jordan and will preform rim shattering dunks at will. Every check point he preforms a dunk, every bonus item he dunks, every secret thing ever he will leap across the screen and preform an in your face dunk. It's an actual decent platformer and is more in line with the Michael jackson game, Moonwalker. However it has Metroid style powerups and things, it's also just really really weird. The game's point of view is that Jordan is just amazing in every way and you're a fool to not see it.

Here's a Gameplay video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN06Bsjj6ys

The game also predated Space Jam by a few years. This is pre Space Jam era MJ.
