I'm aggressively wrong about everything!

Showed this to a friend of mine. He suggested that it should be done like how teachers in school used worksheets from other teachers so you could get twice or thrice-over photocopies that are so lovely you can barely read the text, and all of the pages are different kinds of misaligned.

Homestuck Volume 3. This one will be SBAHJ themed, following the Sburb themed Volume 1, and GameFAQs themed Volume 2.

My prediction.

If that's a SBAHJ book, then it better be printed really loving sloppily, with some pages upside down, others missing colors, and some pages replaced entirely with Garfield strips.

Also, Dirk is a Good Character, that is my contribution to Dirkchat for now, thank you for reading it.

PS: I am literally hoping for this.

They're all resisting in their own ways. Jake was first, and so his resistance was pretty weak. Roxy did her best to resist the way she does- by being unnoticeable, and Dirk's doing his best to resist in his way- with dour over-analysis.

I like Dirk. He's actually one of my favorite characters, and I'm pretty surprised to see so much hate for him. But in any case, I'm pretty sure he's doomed. He'll hang on for as long as he can, but in the end his resistance will only make his eventual downfall more tragic.

I wouldn't say hatred, necessarily, but he's definitely got a bit of Wesley Crusher syndrome going on. He gets all the coolest moments, and is always saving everyone else's bacon, but OH GOSH he's so angst-ridden and ~*complicated*~. At least with Dave, the other characters occasionally get to take the piss out of him once in a while.

Bobulus
Jan 28, 2007

Other than the big flash where he masterminded everything (and that like, probably at least 50% AR), has he really saved everyone that many times?

edit: It seem to me that people are reading Dirk's reticence as arrogance. He seems like kind of a needy guy, to be honest. Lonely. I mean, he was perfectly willing to waste time drawing stupid pornography for Caliborn, just to have someone to talk to. And we how he kept leaving awkward pesterlog messages for Jake when they had a falling out. I think he's got sort of an inverted version of Dave's problem. Dave incorrectly sees his friends as the heroes, and he keeps feeling inadequate. Dirk has been in the position to be the hero a few times, but I suspect we'll find out it's not the role he wants for himself. Just like Dave, he'd rather just be himself.

I'm going through the archives, and happened across this:

http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006923

And as someone's mentioned, it was 1 click to see Trickster Jane, 11 to see Jake, 111 to see Roxy, 1111 will probably be Dirk, and then you have this timer that starts at 1:11:11. I wonder if somehow the trickster stuff leads to the creation of some of these weapons or at least how the bulb got these items to begin with.

The Zillyho seems like a Trickster creation anyways.

Especially since AR being so hosed up is entirely his fault. He created a clone of himself, except it's trapped in an inanimate object so it's going insane, and he knows this, but he neither takes responsibility for this nor tries to solve it. When finally forced to admit that the hosed up robot is really just like him, he gets so pissed he nearly kills it for the crime of being him and making him look at just what a terrible person he is. Dirk's kind of an rear end in a top hat, is what I'm saying.

That doesn't even get into him using a robot that looks like him to molest Jake in an attempt to change the latter's sexuality, either. I don't even like thinking about that whole debacle.

Edit: Ignoring all that, Dirk has Dave's hypercomeptence plus Rose's :words:, but he lacks the charm of either. It's just, well, not interesting. Apart from the art for Caliborn I can't think of any moments of his I liked a lot.

I don't believe anyone with a brain (goons) think this.

We think his issues make him completely hosed up, almost beyond redemption.

EDIT: vvvvv That's why I say "almost". It's already been a long hard road that has no end in sight, but we may reach it eventually.

I dunno about that. I'm sure he can get better someday, but first he needs to face his problems. He's already started doing that by acknowledging how he feels about AR and how AR makes him feel, but there's a long way to go before he stops being so hosed up. Given that he grew up completely without face-to-face human contact and with only one person to talk to, it's a wonder he didn't turn out worse.

Don't forget the suicidal overtones! (How you think he found it so easy to decapitate himself? He was shaking when he did it, too.)

Dirk's a hosed-up guy, in even more ways than we knew all along. His coolkid act was wearing a bit thin by the time Act 6 Act 5 started, but since then, we've only seen him confront his own mortality, and now he's about to fail to resist the urge to open up in an unsettling fit of Trickster-induced "problem solving."

In B1, Dirk basically lived (and died!) for Dave. If Dirk can be saved from himself, his bro is going to be the one to do it.

Apropos of nothing, finding those pages made me remember that Lil Cal was stored in a chest.
