floating 26" off da ground. BURR!

ashgromnies posted:

He's 17 and knows what he's doing. It's more of a, "Wow, what a dumbass, who didn't see that coming?" thing.

People were saying that when he did that interview. Lucky for him he is only getting two months, probably because no one was hurt by him violating his parole. Maybe this will knock sense into him or spur a realization. Most likely not. Our correctional system isn't designed for it and he might not be ready to grow up.

I don't think it's fair to say all the responsibility lies on him. Keef is 17, and I think people forget how bad they were at 17 in their decision-making process. This is the same guy that a year ago pointed a gun at a cop, and most people that think of consequences before their actions probably wouldn't do that.

Now the bigger thing: his managers/handlers. He is 17, and this year he blew up. He went from being a nobody out of Chicago to a nationally recognized personality. There are people deep into their 20s and 30s that can't handle that. Can we really expect a 17 year old KID, cause that's what he is, to make the best decisions as he's surrounded by people praising him and telling him everything he is doing is fine?

This entire situation is because his management and Pitchfork set this up and allowed this to happen. I doubt Keef sets up his own press events, considering he can barely talk about his record deal.

Finally, if he really does have a variation of Asperger's or autism, then he has even more issues tied into that.

We've talked about this before in this thread, but Keef has been exploited by those around him and it is now affecting him in a tangible negative way.

He's 17, his star is rising and now he has to spend a couple months in a facility that has gangs and probably a few people that wanna jack Keef for the fame or for some perceived slight. He has to be separated from his entire support structure and it's because of a poor decision that adults made.

Honestly, I'm okay if he sheds a few tears.

in this section, please write no more than two pages answering one of the following prompts:

1) What is the difference between Riff Raff and Lil B? Is Riff Raff actually talented or is he just a fake representation of Negroid culture? If Lil B was white, would he be a blackface minstrel?

2) Chief Keef recently was videotaped during his sentencing to 60 days in juvenile detention for violating his parole. In the film, he is clearly shown weeping. In your view, is this yet another example of a young black man being overly punished by the Caucasian power structure, or simply another teenage thug getting his comeuppance for blatantly disregarding society's rules and laws? If Chief Keef was white, would he be a blackface minstrel?

3) White people love rap, even though rap was originally made for young black people in the ghettoes of New York. If these white people were black, would they be blackface minstrels?

Speaking of Chief Keef

Welp

quote:

17-year-old rapper Chief Keef is already getting a head start on his baby mama drama -- in fact, he's so far ahead of the game ... he allegedly impregnated a girl who's STILL IN MIDDLE SCHOOL ... and now, she's suing for child support.

The girl filed the petition for child support in Chicago, claiming Keef -- real name Keith Cozart -- fathered a baby daughter with her back in 2011.

The girl's exact age is unclear, but according to the docs, she currently attends a Chicago middle school -- meaning she was .. at MOST ... in 8th grade when she conceived the child, but could have been in 6th grade.

Cozart -- who has since worked with Kanye West, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross -- was 15 at the time.

In Illinois, it is considered a misdemeanor for two people under the age of 17 to have sex ... even if they're in a consensual relationship. When both parties are between 9 and 17 years old, the older person commits a crime called "criminal sexual abuse."

Punishment for the crime includes a max sentence of one year in jail ... and a requirement to register as a sex offender for ten years -- but in reality, these cases are almost never prosecuted.

The most likely scenario in which Keef would face a judge is if the girl's parents press charges -- but if that hasn't already happened, it probably won't.

The girl is suing Keef for an undisclosed amount of child support, including health insurance and other medical expenses. Calls to both Keef's people and the girl's family were not returned.

Keef's no stranger to legal problems -- he was just sentenced to 60 days in juvey for violating his probation on a gun charge.

This is totally off topic but does anyone know how much production Puff Daddy ever actually did? He has his names on some really good beats, even as the first name on the list of producers, and was just wondering if he really had a hand in the songs or just put his name on there because he could.

well first off just cause your name is first doesnt mean poo poo as far as actually doing poo poo

my suspicion is that he was probably more of an executive producer and didnt really do much himself... remember, he was an a&r. the bad boy production squad was top notch, they were called the hitmen (for obvious reasons)

i mean the fact is that these record contracts are so byzantine and obtuse theres probably multiple clauses that allow a record label to drop an artist and still be allowed to recoup their investment

and i highly doubt chief keef got as good of a deal as say, french montana or odd future or something. he doesnt seem like the type to really make sure his contract was the best possible

After you get done with those you should check out his There Is No Competition tapes. There's 3 of them and they're on the same level as the Soul Tapes, imo. There's also Loso's Way (the mixtape, not the album), and DJ Clue's Triangle Offense mixtape which is Fab, Joe Budden, and Paul Cain.

Fab catches a lot of poo poo because most of his studio albums pander to your average female rap fan. But if you really take the time to listen to him he's been a consistently good rapper since the early 2000.

What are you talking about? Brazzers is great! Honestly, I think it's an attempt by Brazzers to not just glamorize their brand, but maybe normalize the idea of them. "Oh, my favorite rapper likes the same porn site as I do! He probably has a subscription and he's a big name! I should get one too!"

Because frankly, people are that stupid. Example: People who are still diehard 50 Cent and G-Unit fans, and people who really really like BOB.
