I get that iOS devices sort of train people to use the thing vertically, but why would you think video should be shot that way? Nearly every person on this planet old enough to functionally use one of these things has seen a movie on an HDTV or been in a movie theater, every show made today is shot in 16:9, it's just mind-blowing to me that someone would set up their phone on a cradle or stand vertically instead of the side that is easiest to balance. Vertical videos are evidence of diminished intelligence, I'm sure of it. All you have to do is think for two seconds, rotate the stupid thing in your hands and suddenly it'll actually use all that space afforded by every loving video on YouTube.
