I kinda wish that had happened in the US, just so everyone could throw up the "X"es as soon as his head popped.

I don't know what's better, Ibushi's rolling Canadian Destroyer on himself, or Kenny Omega using Zangief moves. I love Japan's sense of humor sometimes.

The best part is that they can have a "mystery partner from Japan" then just use a random inflatable pool toy (since DDT uses random blow-up dolls).

How often does Osaka Pro get on TV? I haven't seen anything around since the big July show (Hurricane) which kind of sucks because I was really starting to get into and enjoy it.

I wonder if they'd go for it since it's supposed to be a blow-up doll and all. Then again, they could probably find another inflatable person that isn't used for late night escapades.

Pretty much, if anyone wanted to remake their X-Division/Cruiserweight Division/Entire ROH roster they would just have to convince Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, Prince Devitt and Yoshihiko to leave Japan. Yoshihiko could be difficult...

I'd seen a clip of Kenny Omega doing the Zangief thing on it, but I never figured it was a match I just assumed some fan had thrown it into the ring and he had improvised or something.

DDT's often had non traditional competitors compete or them, especially for their 24/7 title. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAn4xWV5jJE

Also, what makes that clip even better? Up to that point, the ladder actually had A TITLE DEFENCE. The challenger tried to punch it, it fell on him, and the ref counted the pin. A baseball bat has also held the title, but lost it by KO when it got snapped in half.

it was the ladder that DDT held a 10-bell-salute retirement ceremony for, right?

You're really underselling the ladder's title defense, it's on the same show. It has about 10 competitors, and each tries at one point or another to land significant offence, but unsurprisingly the ladder no sells it. Watching Antonio Honda try and apply the octopus stretch to a ladder is golden.

I vaguely remember them having a bowl of rice as champ too, and retained the title through DQ when the challenger ate it.
