Hog Obituary posted:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/3581087525.html I kind of hope some eccentric rich guy decides to gently caress with him and gives him the answers he's looking for, and pays for it in full. Then, when he shows up to take delivery, he arrives in the most disgusting, clapped out, filthy Jaguar you've ever seen, with body panels falling off, stick-on hood scoops and portholes, curb rashed garish chrome dubz, shocker stickers, engine sounding like a tractor, blowing blue smoke, the works. The look on the seller's face alone would totally be worth it.

Method Loser posted:Guys, why shouldn't I buy http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/3559866861.html ? '69 C10 pickup with a 'Corvette' 327. Just taking a quick gander at the add... Just laugh about the corvette motor, Every thing can be a "corvette" motor. And that "new" master cylinder must be about 7-8 years old.... Be prepared, this thing has strong leg braking. I don't see a power booster on it any where. Plus the lines look fairly old too... so be prepared to replace brake lines too. Its not a bad looking truck but keep looking for rust, and make sure to check every little bit of the body. Any sign of rust, just walk away. Once one of these trucks starts to rust, they rust away in a loving hurry. Also check for body filler... magnet above the rear wheels, cab corners, rocker panels and so on.

You are paying $2,500 for I assume running and driving truck. I don't think price is your concern. You can get any part you need for it. I would get one with power steering if you have a choice. That said you can get these in that price range all the time. The short beds are collectible though, not the longs. You can bolt upgraded parts through 1988 trucks right to it.

# ? Feb 1, 2013 15:50 |
|
I would also reiterate that these are everywhere and when you want to sell it your going to want it to be a short bed. The manual brakes are going to give you a workout and potentially even be a safety point at some junction if you forget to leave room for stopping.

You know what, even if those pictures are being really overly generous or if all it has going for it is that it looks good... ...that is how you sell a car. I hate all the CL ads with one stupid small picture taken on a camera phone from 10 years ago or no picture or "here's a stock photo of what it COULD look like". Also, if that was anywhere near me it would already be mine.

Those headlights make it look like a hosed up Mazda. Rip them out, jump on them for a while and replace them with the proper ones and it'd be nice. Also I thought I was in Rhyno's thread.

It kind of sort of reminds me of one of the later 929s with the 4 pot motor. Except I know even they had nice big rectangular headlights. Straight up I think the hosed up lights and bumpers on so many cars exported to the U.S. look horrible. They weren't designed to look that way and it shows. The '60s mercs with their ovaloid lights look like a spider in U.S. mode.
