Because a minimum of 4 characters with 2 play throughs each equals a lot of watching the same poo poo over and over again. Entering 2nd play through you should be given an option to skip cinematics. I love Borderlands but I hate the repeated cinematics. I play the poo poo out of these games but I would never vote it for Game of the Year because of stupid poo poo like that.

Edit: I should add that the PC version had a stupidly long startup sequence (N-Vid-E-AHHHHH) which you could only skip by changing stuff in the config file.

So unfortunately for the Siren, her cataclysm skills lose effectiveness since they're gonna be resisted a bunch and they don't scale in damage very well. I mean you could probably make it work, just saying that if you have difficulty don't be afraid to spec into some of the other trees (converge from the motion tree is really helpful, as is sweet release from harmony. Res from harmony is amazing if you play multiplayer but useless otherwise).

ShadowedFlames posted:

I suggest putting points into the ability that releases health orbs on killing an enemy while it's phaselocked (Name escapes me as I just woke up and my brain isn't fully functional yet). With the Siren having so few ways to gain health without going to Zed's or relying on health vials, I find that an enemy who is phaselocked and slagged tends to go down quickly with an appropriate level weapon in hand and the healing could be a huge help. You'll also want to put points into reducing the cooldown if at all possible. With command of the elements (and I'd assume Helios), you'll want to take advantage of that as much as possible. Slag and playing the elements correctly is your friend in PT2 and having Phaselock on rapid availability will be a huge help.

You could respec into Motion and take Thoughtlock, which may be the better choice in terms of survivability, but Cataclysm is certainly possible if you want to take that path.

In terms of equipment, I tended to have a fire, shock, and corrosive weapon in three of my spots, and changed the fourth as needed. Either a spike shield or a variable shield for elemental resist + health increase worked, and I eent with slag or non-elemental transfusion grenades to supplement the healing I got ftom killing a phaselocked enemy. As for a relic, choose what fits your playstyle and the situation at hand.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips!

I pretty much rolled through the second half of PT1 with an Unending Dart w/ High-Slag proc to start a fight and then rotated through high-fire-rate corrosive and fire guns (with the occasional electrical but man there weren't many shields relative to armored mobs). Hopefully that tactic will still succeed to some extent in PT2, but I'll definitely get another few levels before I start it so that I can have some points in the Life Orbs tree and the Phaselock +length / -cooldown tree.

And if everything goes to hell I'll re-spec and tinker with new builds on the fly, that's like 90% of the fun in this game anyways. :)

This is why I'm not fancying another playthrough. Already got to the endgame with the Gunzerker and clocked the game and the DLC with the Mechromancer. Doing x amount of story quests for 4 weapon slots and having to level up all over again? I don't know if I can be arsed with that AS WELL as a True Vault Hunter run.

If you don't have it, get the Trespasser sniper rifle from the quest Animal Rights. It'll let you instakill Chief Ngwatu by ignoring his shields, making sure Voracidous gets none.

Basically Ngwatu transfers his shield once one of these conditions is met.

- 30-45 (maybe 60?) seconds have passed

- Voracidous gets to 25% Life

So what you do is you wail on Voracidous for a while, and right before the time limit on Ngwatu expires, you shoot him in the face with Trespasser. This should give you an edge. After that, run around like a chicken with a gun for a head and try to leave the midget savages alive so you can recover from being downed.

Or just use Evil Smasher glitch if you don't give a gently caress.

I've seen another method where you can also kill the midgets fast enough that Ngwatu doesn't die and then eventually takes his shields back. Here's the trick though; when either Ngwatu dies or Voracidous gets to %15 health he goes into a rage and does double novas that are unavoidable and will kill you. This double nova rage happens no matter how you fight him so you're stuck doing at least 10 million damage while in FFYL.

Man I thought I had some pretty good poo poo for loot until I started playing with goons. I have a copy of a Purging Infinity, the bee, and critical conference call....which were all given to me by a friend who is in love with breaking games. I've only had about 6 oranges drop through all my playthroughs, all were under 50 except for the Operation Pitchfork.

Now I have an arsenal of poo poo that blows my previous builds away.

Thank you goons

On a side note: bought a lvl 20+ Legenday gunzerker mod, out of the store in overlook.

Get to know the names of your enemies. Take higher level enemies out of the picture. Also shoot whom ever you are phasing in the face and move on to next target. Until higher lvls your skill doesn't actually dmg regular enemies.

If it's your first playthrough, go cataclysm. The game doesn't punish you as much for using the wrong element, so just focus on pure offence. If you're on TVHM, get skills in motion and harmony. Look more on the survivability side than the damage side.

I main a Siren, I've done TVHM mode and all DLC's mostly solo as one, I pretty much split my talents between the Cataclysm and Harmony trees, Health regen is a must for the tougher encounters.

Cataclysm is good for Normal Mode, but once you get to TVHM it's Motion or Harmony, probably more Harmony since all the health perks are good.

Can anyone suggest some PT1 bosses I can farm for fast leveling from 20 and up? I used a level 14 main quest boss to go from 14-17 in a half hour, and I'd obviously like to do more of that. I got a handful of blues and about 75 moon money, too. Googling was surprisingly unhelpful; it seems to be all about instaboosting off of endgame enemies, which is incredibly lame to me.

If it's a low level kerblaster. I accidentally down myself sometimes with it because the grenades it spawns are drat powerful. But really, the Logan's Gun is the preferred one because when you shoot it once it fires a burst of mini rockets. It's great with a low level LG because it's not going to hurt your shields too much if the absorb doesn't proc and the number of rockets to absorb from in a single trigger pull is pretty decent.

Yeah, not sure what they were thinking giving a unique blue such a low drop rate. When the Torgue DLC first came out everyone thought they forgot to actually put it in. Nope, just obscenely low drop rate from some of the mooks in the Beatdown. Just have someone dupe it for you, it's not worth it!

On another note, has anyone found a capacity in which the Chulainn is useful? Even if I switch to the drat thing for a second I'm slagged for like 5 seconds after I switch away. Thought I was being clever pulling it out as the off-hand weapon while gunzerking, but nope, that slags ya too.

I farmed a Bee in playthrough 1 pre-nerf, but I wouldn't recommend it. That bitchin orange you farm in PT1 becomes obsolete within moments of starting True Vault Hunter.

If you really want to though, farm a Maggie from the Zafford's leader (You have to have sided with the Hodunks in Clan War). Just exit from Lynchwood and you'll enter the Dust in the middle of all of them. Just kill the leader, if he doesn't drop the Maggie, say "gently caress it" and try again.

Farming an orange in playthrough 1 is really not worth it because it's a lot of work and relying on luck for an item that will be outclassed by a white rarity gun in TVHM.

The alternative is to do the bar brawl level 3 in the Torgue DLC if you have it. It's repeatable and has a lot of enemies to kill in a short amount of time.

A kind Goon helped me level up my level 37ish Mechromancer up into 44 or so in a relatively short time by murdering poo poo in the brawl while I helped with a low-level Evil Smasher glitch. Then I went up 3 more levels by farming Terra with the ES glitch + some autopistol I got out of the gold chest. I'll be really bummed when they patch that glitch, it allows me to drop in on level 50 games and be a help instead of a burden at lower levels. I saw a dude on youtube level up from 1-14 doing the brawl quest over with his level 50 buddies in about 4 minutes.
