Just ran the thing on my ipad 2,4 and it seems to be hanging at "finding offsets..." after the desktop application runs and lets you quit.

Fiki posted:Okay so it looks like the backup iTunes made was pretty much useless. I was able to get everything up and running by going to the Settings and doing a full erase/reset and letting the iCloud backup restore. Thank god for the cloud! Backups are super hokey in iOS 6 I've noticed. When I backed up my iPhone 5 before updating from 6.0 to 6.1 I only got about 60% of my apps back. Settings were there, but I had to manually install/folder all my apps. When I did my iPad today from 5.1.1 (previously jailbroken, but still), it completely broke my foldering (which had no folders with more than 20 apps). Left a bunch of apps out of that restore too. These were both full restores. I originally installed 6.1 on my iPhone via iTunes without doing a full restore (which did download a full ~1gb iOS image), but I think it just did something similar to an OTA update. Everything was there afterward, didn't have to recopy any music, apps, etc. So I did an option-restore and that's when it got messy. I don't want to restore from iCloud because I have a LOT of apps and that's just a pointless waste of bandwidth. Ezrem fucked around with this message at 23:24 on Feb 4, 2013 |

All is going well with my 4s apart from one strange thing: after installing FakeClockUp, my phone restarted, I opened cydia and it was somehow on a page full of porn I think I'll wait a few days before installing stuff to avoid the frustration of failed downloads

I made a mistake somewhere in backing up and updating so I need to redownload all of my stuff from the appstore, but other than my own issues the whole jailbreak was easy on an Ipad 3.

FYI - If you cant update because Itunes cant contact the apple software servers, it's because your hosts file is edited and you need to reset it back to normal. I lost 5 hours of my life on this.

I'm on a 5.1.1 4S on ATT network with no prior jailbreaking: I should do the following: 1) Full backup via 2) Upgrade to iOS 6.1 via itunes (I don't have to get a specific file do I? I would think iTunes would get the right file) 3) Backup again 4) Remove Password lock 5) Run evasi0n the end Is that right? I just need point 2 clarified. Does my iTunes version matter? It's been telling me there is an update but I hate updating. Currently it's iTunes 10.6.1.7

Is there something like Killbackround for the notification screen that works on iOS 6? I want to be able to close all my apps without double tapping the home button.

So I jailbroke my iPhone 5 and it seems to work fine, but now iTunes doesn't detect my phone at all. It also makes iFunbox crash repeatedly. I don't think I can restore my phone since I can't get it into iTunes. What should I do?

There's a Remove Background toggle for SBSettings, but I don't know about Notification Center.

Update on issues (if anyone cares) with evasi0n 1.0: Issue: Device sometimes hangs on boot (stuck at Apple logo). Fix: None, yet. Rebooting (Sleep + Home) gets it past that … until it gets stuck again. --- Issue: Icon cache gets corrupted like on iOS 5.x. You may notice a slight pause when opening a folder (more items in folder = longer pause) - that's the cache for the icons being rebuilt. Fix: Unlikely. @saurik and @planetbeing had worked on this last year with iOS 5. @planetbeing says he fixed the "white icon" issue, but it's obvious the icon cache is still funky. --- Issue: Weather app is broken. It will not open. Fix: Notion, yet. @MuscleNerd & @pod2g said they were working on a fix, and @chpwn says he knows what the problem is. The latest from @pod2g: "the mobileinstallation.plist is being altered by the jb process. We are on it."

Load Services in windows (on windows 7 just type it in the search bar in the start menu) Hit "Stop" on the Apple Mobile Device service Once that is stopped wait a few seconds the choices will change to "Start" Press that and then iTunes should detect your device again. Hope that helps, it worked for me a few hours ago.

I just tried to update to 6.1 from 5.1.1, and it kicked me into Recovery mode. Said I had to restore to do anything with my iPad, and I couldn't boot back into iOS or anything. So, I'm like "Okay, I'll restore. Whatever. Hope I don't lose any poo poo." Well then it tells me I can't restore, because "The iPad cannot be restored at this time because the iPad software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable." Is this just because Apple's servers are getting pounded from people downloading iOS 6, or is there something else I need to do?
