Holy poo poo, after 200 straight runs of the most horrible loving luck, Werster is finally going for Sub 4 Hours on Fire Red. His initial luck was a bit bad, but he just beat Koga and is 9 minutes ahead.

iastudent posted:1:58:30! THE RUN! And just last night he was bummed that his 2:00:46 didn't get recorded with his internet out. Twitch didn't save the first part of the video apparently, but the important part's on the highlight, namely the last hour and a half and everything after the atlas glitch. Swiping the last boss for 1000-2000 a pop is quite a sight. He doesn't even use spells or call beads on the final boss rush anymore looks like. http://www.twitch.tv/metasigma/b/363691915

He's been this far ahead a whole lot, he's just never finished a run.

Werster's response to questions going from "Why the gently caress are you asking me this sort of retarded poo poo you dickmongering assmonkey" to "Well you see, how it works is that the game (detailed explanation here)" depending on the status of his given run is always hilarious.

I'm going to have to watch the recording of that. I was watching it on my laptop with no sound, so I'm curious to see how Werster was reacting. Edit: I also hope he does an audio commentary on the run. The other two runs he has with commentary are really interesting.

So after TSSB, they linked this stream of a japanese player running through Super Mario World, using a program that reads out nico comments, even not knowing japanese this is pretty funny with people on their nico accounts trying to make it say "Fraynkah zee". http://www.twitch.tv/yaposon

So Congratsio stopped being a thing, apparently due to some sort of ~Speedrunning Drama~. I hope SRL gets their leaderboards out soon because right now there's nothing for leaderboards.

Just gonna throw it out there that, no matter who's in the wrong here, speedrunning drama is stupid and folks need to stop hamming it up like they're still in high school (well, I guess some of them probably are, but still). Anyway, moving on to the topic of People Playing Games Fast, a runner named Ryxos has been putting time into Paper Mario Sticker Star and it's a pretty fun watch: http://www.twitch.tv/ryxos/new

A bunch of SDA members are doing a thing where they play another person's speedrun game(s) on stream. It's apparently Romscout's 3000 follower special, even though he has 6,400 at this point, because he never figured out an idea before or something. Romscout just finished Illusion of Gaia (puwexil's game) in a healthy 7 hours, 25ish minutes. Here's the general schedule for the rest of it: http://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/joint_3000_follower_stream_the_great_game_swap.html Edit: Cosmo Paper Mario http://www.twitch.tv/cosmowright/new Shadow Ninja 64 fucked around with this message at 10:56 on Feb 5, 2013 |
