That's one thing that made me really like Metro Zu. I think it was Vice that interviewed Lofty and was like "All you rap about is drugs, money and women. Why?" Lofty explained that if you portray yourself in a way or speak about something, chances are that will come full circle. So why talk about guns when you can talk about getting laid while tripping balls on acid? The fact is that Rick is probably just running out of steam, and this type of stuff isn't helping. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLcy-DpmkrM C$PG is such a great album. And yes, I know that they do talk about shooting guns and whatnot but it's nowhere near as prominent as their lyrics about sex and drugs.

Harley C posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRhkrHxSf6I Even if they are comedy rap, the production on their songs are fantastic, their music videos are actually good, and the lyrics are actually kind of funny and well-done. In my opinion, there's not a lot of comedy rappers that actually are funny, tons of them just act goofy and whacky while trying to emulate hip hop culture. It's awesome that there's a group like the Buckwheat Groats who are willing to just act completely ridiculous while also embracing and satirizing that culture. Edit: Also some of the comments on this vid are hilarious, people are genuinely offended by it, which is absolutely ridiculous. Actually he has a point this time - that G Easy guy is pretty lame. Obviously he went a little overboard with the Crazy Town reference but it was funny. I don't understand how this is the only kind of rap you can listen to all day. Do you like only safe rap for college kids? If so at least post some Logic, Kidz in the Hall, or the Cool Kidz.

There is like a whole genre/other world of white rappers for people who are scared of real rap music. Machine Gun Kelly, this idiot, how the gently caress did this get so big? Thrift Shop is number one? Ugh, at least listen to some actual smooth poo poo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bF-DR-aQWc

Also the underachievers tape was good but tbh I was expecting more. I kinda said they were like a mellow, smoother flatbush zombies before and after hearing the tape the similarities are really strong (especially with the quality of both, which imo was kinda hit or miss). either way hope they stick to that sound, i'm kinda digging the new new york stuff that's been coming out. the black husserl posted:There is like a whole genre/other world of white rappers for people who are scared of real rap music.
