Huh I never knew this Verizon to stop blocking tethering apps, settles with FCC for $1.25 million http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/31/verizon-to-stop-blocking-tethering-apps-settles-with-fcc-for-1/

Christoff posted:Huh I never knew this Yep, you're pretty late to the party. Unfortunately the ruling didn't mean that Verizon had to give everyone on tiered plans free tethering, it just meant they couldn't block third party apps. It didn't help for un-JBed iPhones because it's Apple that blocks tethering apps, not Verizon. Now that everyone has JB it means 1) you don't have to pay the bullshit monthly fee and 2) you don't have to worry about VZW punishing third party tethering app users. edit: Why did you repost this verbatim in the general iPhone thread? Did you think you were breaking the story or something? Magic Underwear fucked around with this message at 23:54 on Feb 10, 2013 |

So I installed Copic, and it keeps yelling at me to buy it and activate it. I thought it was a free app? And saying this everytime I lock and unlock is beyond annoying. edit: And everytime I access a contact. And apparently doesn't work at all. I'm either missing something glaringly obvious (all settings are switched to on) or this app is poo poo. Endymion FRS MK1 fucked around with this message at 00:33 on Feb 11, 2013 |

Does anyone have any preferences/advice re: Intelliscreen vs. LockInfo 5? I used the trial of both and liked each in their own way, though it would be nice if LockInfo at least showed a clock. I'm just JB'ing my 5; the last time I tried any of this was on a 3G, so I'm a bit out of the loop.

I can't stand LI5 and have ditched the concept entirely and am just going with Typo4 for the time being. I'm wondering if he'll ever cave to the demand and go back to the LI4 visual style. As it stands now it's wholly unappealing to me.

is it a known BiteSMS bug to enter a text message (conversation) and have no way to go back to the list of conversations without force quitting the app? Or am I missing a button somewhere? This seems to happen randomly, perhaps when receiving picture messages.

Is there anything (tweak or wb theme) that removes the camera button from the lock screen but retains the "swipe up for camera" functionality?

Jjaarreett posted:iBlacklist works really well and comes with a 7 day trial. After that its $12 though and if you switch devices after a year you have to pay $6 for a license transfer. It mostly works, whenever I get a text from a blocked contact it reboots my phone into safe mode most of the time. It does block calls for me though.

Anyone have any experience with LockInfo support? I purchased it years ago under a different email account, one I don't have access to anymore. Now when I try to add or transfer the license to my new device it wants me to confirm with my old email. I emailed support last week and haven't heard anything back. Just wondering if anyone else knows a good way to get a hold of them.

IFile or alternatively you can use an ssh client or an scp client like winscp which allows you to edit files on the phone. Edit: If it's a lot of editing I would copy the file to your computer so you can edit it with a client you are used to and then copy it back to the phone. Use winscp for that. If I'm having issues with my jailbreak, what sort of information should I provide in order to get the best possible help in this thread? Please be gentle, this is my first iPhone and first jailbreak, and for some reason my screen now blanks out whenever I try to tap a button in the top left corner. It also tends to shut down Spotify, if that's relevant at all.

Is there a good way to attempt to debug Springboard crash issues? I got into a situation last night where enabling a handful of Winterboard themes resulted in Springboard perpetually entering Safe Mode, but disabling the themes didn't fix it (and removing Winterboard threw my iPad into the dreaded perpetual-apple-icon boot state until I just DFU'd and restored it). I tried pulling up the console during the safe mode interlude to try and figure out what was causing the issue and just ended up with a wall full of what looked like status spam from Springboard booting up.

You may want to head to /Settings/LockInfo/Notifications and Widgets/In Notification Center: Weather Widget and check your lock screen clock vs the weather widget clock. For example, I have the clock on the lock screen w/o weather and the clock disabled on the weather widget. Otherwise I'd have have two clocks right on top of each other on the lock screen. It's unclear to me how this is happening for you. Could you have a random clock-hiding tweak hiding out in Winterboard (if installed?)

I think the issue might have been with the "Black UPS" theme. I copied the actual Theme from the /private/var/stash/Themes folder on my iPad 2 before I sold it off, but looking at it through Cydia it appears to "not be confirmed to work on this version of IOS". It seems odd that it would cause that dramatic an issue even when not enabled, but I haven't had so much as a Springboard crash this time around.
