There are also various agents to soften the decal to make it adhere nicely to a marine's shoulder, that dissolve the decal's foil to make it less visible etc. basically fancy stickers

Yeah, Americans call them decals, British people call them transfers.

Any tips on making a good kill team? I was toying with the idea of taking a fully tooled-up squad of 3 Chaos Terminators with mark of Nurgle, Hatred, etc. and all the weapons they can carry for 197 pts but then I realized that if one of them die that's 1 VP for the Specialists and another 2 VP for the one that's the Leader. So now I'm pondering something with more models (but not Cultists, they have terrible Leadership).

Orange with black pips for hull points and wounds, and green gem with white pips for pain tokens. They fit easily on model bases or on top of any vehicle, but they're not as heavy as the 12mm dice that are easier to find, so you just have to be a little careful moving the models around. Also, those Nurgle models are amazing. I really need to re-visit the Plague Marines I did in December, they're just a Dark Angels DV squad with some fleshy bits Green Stuffed in and painted a sickly green, but they need boils, corrosion and drippy black stuff to get across the Nurgle look.

Four Chaos Spawn with marks of Nurgle and ten Chaos Cultists with a Heavy Stubber and one Autogun is 200pts as well. Individual models will have problems dealing with a fast T6 model that gets 2+1d6 attacks and special powers on a charge.

I'm pretty sure that Nurgle Spawn are the best possible kill team. No other unit approaches their sheer efficiency on that scale.

Hmm I do like Spawn! Decisions, decisions. I'll probably go with the spawn list just because the terrain will be varied and getting across the board in the first turn would be nice. I've also considered doing an all-Reaver list to get my DE back in action but I've never had good luck with them.

What special rules would be best to give the Spawn? I'm thinking one with FNP, one with Shrouded, and one with either Armourbane to deal with vehicles like walkers or Eternal Warrior to deal with models with instant death weapons. Maybe both Armourbane and EW and drop Shrouded?

Maybe both Armourbane and EW and drop Shrouded? Yeah, Eternal Warrior, Feel No Pain, and Armourbane are the best options. With the speed of Spawn you can easily deliver those units to whatever target needs to get their special "attention."

They come with boarding shields (6++, 5++ in CC, defensive grenades, no extra attacks) and Hardened Armor (Void Hardened for missions that have it, failed armor saves from blasts and templates can be re-rolled, reduce run, sweep, and charge by 1"). Pretty awesome fluffy guys.

My opponent responded by charging them with a Dreadnought, which they promptly scored 7 overwatch hits and 3 Hull Points against, wrecking it. That is... ridiculously lucky. I feel like throwing anything at Terminators that is not AP2 is a waste of time. Goes to show it isn't! Those 2+ saves though.

While I was in my local GW today, picking up a box of Hellions and a Haemonculus, I impulse bought one of their 'limited-edition' dice shakers. It makes a cool sound. If you like dice, make the dice like you, buy them a shaker.

I lost 2 terminators from a squad of 3 in an explosion from the Tau devilfish they punched to death. The faq for the BRB says that bikes now have the Very Bulky special rule. Can someone explain why they did this if bikes can't ride on transports?

There are probably transports that can carry non-infantry models that could carry bikes. e: Yeah, Night Scythes can carry jetbikes.

I've been doing some more thinking about the IG blob, the NOVA Open winners list, and that battle report posted a few pages ago with the Nid player. I want to avoid giving up kill points, which means few light transports. However, mobility is key in a few games. I also want to be able to shutdown helldrakes and other templates from ruining foot sloggers. I like to shutdown Eldar/Nid players who rely on pskers to make them hard to kill. Here is my first draft. SW/IG, 1850 4x Rune Priest, Termie Armor, Force Axe 3x 10x Grey Hunter, 2x Plasma 3x Long Fang, 4x missiles 1x Primaris Pskyer, Force Axe. 1x 50 man blob, 5x power axe, 5x melta bomb 1x Platoon Command Squad 1x Vendetta This gives me a huge presence on the ground with missiles and a vendetta to open up transports for the plasma/weight of dice to take things down. The priests lead each squad/the blob using their 2+ armor save and positioning to eat crap like helldrake templates/small arms fire. I want to run that many priests so I can have many many attempts at the 4+ invul save power, and giving rerolls to all my infantry would be hilarious. Otherwise once I have the 4+ invul or think I don't need it I can rock Jaws on all of them. The Psyker goes in the blob trying for FNP and the PCS rides in the vendetta for an objective grab. I don't have Marbo or a Manticore though.

Naramyth posted:SW/IG, 1850 I basically fought this list against Phyresis a while back and I can confirm it's pretty drat hard. The only problem you may experience (and was the reason I won) is that your mobility on your troop choices can be a little rough and if you're fighting blobs yourself you'll be hard-pressed to clear out enough models. It's great against elite units, but if they have a mix or are fielding tons of infantry you might have a problem. PierreTheMime fucked around with this message at 19:47 on Feb 13, 2013 |

So The Warstore is pretty awesome. I've been building a DA army off of all the Dark Vengence stuff, and one of my orders was missing an arm on a tactical marine. They sent the missing piece out and today I open it up and get that plus the new DW Cyclone Missle Launcher. Those guys have some pretty good customer service there.

I started my Empire army from the Warstore, and ordered like 6? boxes of state troops. He actually ended up opening a bunch of battalion boxes to meet the order, and then was like "oh what do I do with these 20 greatswords?? welp in the box they go!" I love the Warstore.
