Aside from randomly not showing the "Recently Viewed" sometimes, not going to the next episode in a TV show, and sometimes highlighting an episode or two back in the TV series after you hit back at the end of an episode, yes.

This is probably the most requested change. Also, I really wish that Netflix still gave me the ability to hide already watched movies/shows, since I'm a movie whore with 1,776 movies rated (Revolution!) and half my "recommended for you" film's I've already seen. This is more cross platform though and probably has something to do with a dwindling streaming library lately.

Jailbreak n00b here. Other than XBMC and plex, any must-have jailbreak apps I should know about? Or do they even exist? Half the aTV jailbreaking guides I find are from like 2009 so I don't know what's current anymore.

$220 within 4 hours for my 4.4.4 AppleTV 2. Awesome. I'm buying like 6 more from Craigslist with the $$.

I'm not sure that Netflix wrote the ATV app. More than likely Apple wrote it and has a deal where they can talk to netflix's APIs.

Just got a new update. Noticing "SUPER HD" on Netflix now. Hopefully they implemented the feature where it auto-plays the next episode as well. Maybe I'm behind the times on updates though. EDIT: Nope, still have to press like 8 buttons to move to the next episode. tonic fucked around with this message at 19:33 on Feb 3, 2013 |

Just got my Apple TV. Works great, but is there any way to get rid of the letter boxing when mirroring apps from an iPhone or iPad? I understand that a 4:3 iPad will obviously have to have vertical letter boxing on a 16:9 TV, but there is also inexplicably horizontal letter boxing so that my mirrored app has black bars going all the way around it. I don't really see why it shouldn't match the top and bottom of the app to the top and bottom of the TV, regardless of what aspect ratio it is running.

You need to go into the settings and turn off overscan. I can't remember which menu it is on since I'm not sitting in front of my Apple TV

Is it necessary to sleep my ATV or can I just leave it running forever? I realized I've always backed out of xbmc or Netflix and make it sleep when I'm done with it for the day, but I leave my desktop running.

It should go to sleep on its own eventually anyway, but even if it doesn't, it's still using way less power than your desktop.

The ATV has an 8W power supply. So at full use it's still equivalent to like a fridge halogen light.

So does Apple actually write the application/interface for Netflix on the Apple TV? It seems like every other Netflix setup has implemented "auto-play" (even the Boxee Box!) except for the Apple TV. For some reason I want to blame this on Apple rather than Netflix.

In my limited experience working with the people in the WDTV division, Netflix controls the user interface of their service on all 3rd-party products. My guess it that Apple has thrown some UI guidelines at them, though, which results in the odd interface we have for Netflix on the ATV.

Great news to see HBO Go get airplay support. Even with an app on my Roku, I can't watch it on there because Directv doesn't support it. Now I can at least watch it through the Apple TV.

I'm getting dependency errors trying to install Plex and XBMC; I think updates to mobilesubstrate are required for things to work. I have a jailbroken ATV2 with XBMC. I want to be give it to my mom so she can watch her Korean dramas. The only problem is that the websites she streams them from use Flash. Is there a way to AirPlay the flash video from her computer to the ATV? So far, my research shows that the atv flash black + bluetooth keyboard is the only option.

Good to know. Thanks! I'll tell you, I bought the ATV3 on a whim when it was released. The more I use it, which is a lot, I've found it's a severely under-rated Apple product. It's my primary device for my TV now. I can't tell you the last time I used my PS3 or Xbox for media purposes. We don't have cable and we don't miss it one bit. The ATV does everything we'd need.
