I'm sure glad to hear they're changing the title of this considering the current Hansel and Gretel movie coming out.... I'm curious what they go wi- No way.

BLOM doing a Battle Royale poster is kind of gross considering he's a Canadian who does a weeaboo faux-anime drawing style. It's like the illustration equivalent of yellowface. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

Picking up aspects of a foreign style you like is not remotely on the level of racial characature just because it annoys you,

Is it bad that I actually love this poster? It's got, well, a lot of 'witchiness' to it, I guess I would say. Love the emerald green.

Does Tyler Perry make his own posters? Like, is he the one who photoshops them together? They seem to be pretty consistent and if he's the one behind them that's pretty impressive.

He uses the same design houses as everyone else does, he just has good taste. http://www.impawards.com/designers/crew_creative.html http://www.impawards.com/designers/ignition_print.html These two appear to be his go-to companies.

While I realize it would be impractical and unrealistic for every director to make their own posters, I would love to see the results.

It's sad that design houses' works can be so incredibly varied between poo poo and great simply due to having to work for people who have awful taste.

scary ghost dog posted:Like most Tyler Perry posters, these are excellent. Yeah, there's a bit of an original way they've played with the text vs. image without ripping off Barbara Kruger, like most posters have been doing. Just a subtle single line near the eye which brings attention to the actor and the taglines. Because it's literally just this promotional still made to look like a some sort of gaudy paperback novel but done with the skill of a sub-par SA photoshop submission. The swirly effect is nice as is the hand of the invisible resting on his shoulder, it's all very nice thematically, but I'm of the opinion that this thing is a loving eye-sore.
