Don't simply play a track (mostly just tracks from popular labels) for the first 40 seconds of a track. Not too confusing what is going on here and they certainly aren't getting "worse" other than more record labels not wanting their tracks put up on soundcloud for free. Be a little more creative with your openings and you wont have an issue. e: If you've recorded a mix and you want to put it on soundcloud, use some type of post-edit program to change the first 40 seconds in a way that wont ping the copyright robot. mitztronic fucked around with this message at 20:19 on Feb 26, 2013 |

That will always seem the case - there isn't going to be a track you play that you've never heard of, and someone else could possibly play something you've never heard of or they could play a mix where you've heard everything. Digging on your own (as in, away from blogs (especially away from blogs)/ charts / etc) is really important though to try to find tracks that fewer and fewer people will know. Somebody is bound to have heard of "that rare Ben Sims track you just found" obviously because there are those people out there who know every Ben Sims track or whatever, but digging is nonetheless important if you want to feel like you have Secret Lair tracks. (Easy way to start digging in case you don't know where to start or if you don't have any record stores near by or whatever, is to listen to older mix CDs - find ones you like obviously - and then explore those labels that those tracks came out on, explore those artists, etc - you're bound to find something the more you research, and older mix CDs are a good place to start).
