I found another one. Can't buy this one which is a shame because not only is it only about 300km away from me it's one of the few places I could catch a bus / train to and leg it the rest of the way. The engine bay is a disaster, and I think those are Suzuki rims or something which have the wrong offset. Interior is a bit rough too.

Anyhow the main reason I posted it was the price. $1000 buy it now or $800 starting bit with a reserve. What's the bet the reserve is something like $999.

Don't have the cash. All the travelling for ortho appointments and related costs, and direct and indirect costs on the Fairlane have left me about $500 short. Plus I'm currently in limbo with some government stuff which will at best see me getting 12 weeks backpay (Wish it was the 9+ years worth but what can you do), and at worst no worse off than I am now. They have massively overrun their deadline so I'm just stuck playing the waiting game. Feel free to insert The Simpsons Hungry Hippos reference as the waiting game does indeed suck.

On the Niva I posted. There is an offchance I'll have a small windfall next week and if that's the case and if it's still available I'll probably buy it. It occurred to me I'm probably about the only person that thinks a noisy straight cut gear drive TC is a good thing.

It's roughly 35*C and super humid today. It sucks.

I don't have pictures, but I can tell you the best thing I ever got off of Craigslist.

It was a 2004 Hyosung 250GV Aquila. The picture made it look pristine and beautiful. And the price was unbeatable. I knew there'd be a catch at only around 1600, but given that my Roketa scooter was completely busted, and there were no other good offers? I took it. Even talked the guy down to 1400.

I was not shocked to find that the machine was not as pristine in the picture, nor was I shocked to find that the saddlebags were ratty old pieces of poo-poo that would make a hobo laugh. I was however shocked when the engine completely died because it was broken and ball bearings and metal shavings were bouncing around inside of it, forever ruining it as an engine and requiring it to be completely replaced (which I did, and I got a good deal). I was not pleased to learn that only two places anywhere near where I live would work on the vehicle, both of them being over 100 miles away, but I sucked it up and stuck it out. Getting a new engine, replacing the ignition system, spark plugs, basically everything but the frame, and tightening the clutch wire? Ran great.

I learned later that the 2004 250GV was utterly riddled and plagued by design flaws and problems since its creation; the engine becoming a big shaving-filled brick? Commonplace. Ignition system borking up and clutch wire loosening? Also commonplace. And you need to get some aftermarket parts otherwise the electrical system will gently caress itself to death and the factory parts are as reliable as a free healthcare clinic run by Ron Paul.

Truly I had made one of the worst investments of my life, but I still ended up spending about another 1000 bux to make the drat thing RUN. ...Now the only problem with it is the battery needs to be replaced, and the batteries 250s use don't tend to last more than a year at a time.

I think we could find a suitably beefy manual transmission. I mean, it only makes ~600Nm or so, the 2013 Shelby GT500 makes over 850Nm.

Unless you planned to swap it into a vintage ferrari that lacked an engine or needed it for a replacement, is there really much demand for and engine like that?

There a plenty of ways to make that kind of power for a whole lot less.

That would be hard to mount as the V12 is longitudinal, and the V6 in the NSX is mounted transversely.

LoveFab has been working on a longitudinally mounted engine in their Pikes peak car for this year if I'm not mistaken.

I guess for bragging rights or something? Ferrari V12s do sound absolutely fantastic, too.

But that price compared to an LS motor with a supercharger or turbo? Yeah, absolutely ridiculous.

From a few days ago, but my '90 has over 220k miles on it, with the original engine.
With that interior color, it would have originally been a goldfish silver. That interior was exclusive to the "Winning Silver Metallic" paint.
That car looks pretty good. Look at the usual car stuff. Don't run it out of oil or overheat it and it'll run quite a while. Normally aspirated models arent near as fragile as the turbo models.
The only thing I absolutely hate about mine is the creepy-crawly automatic seat belts. Replacing them with earlier manual style also requires replacing a bunch of interior trim and the headliner.

EDIT: windshield wiper issue is common. Fix involved replacing relays in the switch. Not hard if you can desolder/solder. Instructions are on the web. Power window may be the lock as previously mentioned, or a dirty/broken switch on the passenger side.
